
SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects after a traffic stop.
Just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a law enforcement officer with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a white 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck near SW 29th Street and South Kansas Avenue, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
During the investigation, a K9 Unit located illegal narcotics and both occupants had warrants for their arrests.
The driver, Steven E. Gaddis, 40, of Topeka, had two outstanding warrants for his arrest and a revoked driver’s license. Gaddis was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for his two warrants and on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
The passenger was identified as Ashlee A. Tosh, 32, of Topeka after giving a false name and date of birth. Tosh was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for her Topeka bench warrants and booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, identity theft and interference with law enforcement.
