Update: Police investigate crash that killed Kansas teen

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities continue investigating an accident that took the life of a 17-year-old boy that occurred early Sunday in Topeka

A preliminary autopsy report indicated the death to be a suicide, according to Police Lt. Donna Eubanks.

Just before 4:30a.m. Sunday, police responded to 28th and Adams for a report of a single vehicle traffic accident, according to Lt. Donna Eubanks.

First responders found a 17-year-old boy from Topeka, unresponsive in the roadway. American Medical Response arrived and declared the boy deceased at 4:33 a.m. Police did not release the teen's name.
