KANSAS CITY, Mo. —Law enforcement authorities are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just before 10:30p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 5600 block of E 28th Street in Kansas City, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
As officers arrived, they were directed to a residence on 28th Street where they located an adult male victim, later identified as 53-year-old Derrick McDonald on the front steps. He was suffering from life threatening gun shot wounds.
Officers immediately began performing life saving measures and KCFD EMS simultaneously arrived. Medics transported McDonald to a local hospital in critical condition. A short time later, hospital personnel declared McDonald deceased. This is being investigated as a homicide
