COWLEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a registered sex offender on new allegations after an arrest.

Just before 10:30p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the 1200 block of West Oklahoma Avenue in Arkansas City following a report of a physical disturbance involving a stabbing, according to a media release.

First responders officers located a 40-year-old female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her neck.  Arkansas City Fire/EMS provided immediate treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to South Central Medical Center. She was subsequently airlifted to a Wichita medical facility for further treatment and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

The suspect, Sean Michael Boydston, 54, Arkansas City, was inside a nearby residence. Officers established probable cause and arrested Boydston without incident. Investigators have determined that the suspect and victim are in a domestic relationship.

Boydston was booked into the Cowley County Jail on requested charges of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Domestic Battery. He has previous convictions for Aggravated criminal sodomy with a child and Aggravated indecent liberties with a child, according to the KBI Offender registry.

He is being held on a bond of $100,000.
