Store employee battered during Kansas armed robbery

JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an armed robbery and searching for suspects.

Just after 10p.m. Monday, police responded to reported of an armed robbery at W. 80th Street and Metcalf Avenue, according to Officer John Lacy.

A store employee reported two men entered the business wearing ski mask and displayed firearms and demanded cash.  In the process of taking items from the business, the two suspects also battered the store employee.

The first suspect was described as a black male in his twenties wearing a gray hoodie black pants and white shoes. The second suspect was described as a possible Hispanic male also in his twenties wearing a black hood jacket, black pants and white shoes.

The store employee suffered minor injuries and was not transported to a local hospital. The two suspects left eastbound on foot from the business.
