
SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating the death of a toddler have made an arrest.
On June 21, 2022, police were dispatched to a local hospital after the victim, a 22-month-old boy arrived unresponsive, according to a media release from Wichita. Police. At the time of death, it was unknown how the child died.
This week lab results returned and a warrant was issued for the arrest of 26-year-old Calvin Vick of Wichita.
The Special Investigations Bureau Community Response Team (SIBCRT) located Vick and arrested him without incident on Thursday. This case has been charged by the District Attorney’s Office. He remains jailed on a $100,000 bond in connection with kidnapping, domestic battery and criminal threat. He also faces a murder charge. Police have not released details on the cause of death or Vick's relationship to the boy.
