
ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new allegations after an arrest.
Just before 3p.m. Wednesday, an unlawful entry was made into a residence in the 500 block North 5th Street in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
A suspect had entered the residence through a front door, grabbed a playstation, and ran from the residence. The residence was occupied at the time but there was no contact between the resident and the suspect.
The investigation led police to 28-year-old Darius Fleming who was taken into custody at 8:00AM on Thursday morning at 5th and Santa Fe on a Kansas Department of Corrections detain order for parole violation and requested charges of aggravated burglary and theft.
He has two previous convictions for theft and had been listed as an absconder April 21, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
