Rotary Club of Junction City marked historic progress toward a polio-free world and urged the community to help end the paralyzing disease. Club members are taking action on World Polio Day this Saturday to raise awareness, funds and support to end polio, a vaccine-preventable disease that still threatens children in parts of the world today.

Susan Jagerson, Club President, said Junction City Rotarians have been asked to collect dollars throughout the month of October to donate to World Polio Day. Mayor Jeff Underhill has proclaimed Saturday, Oct. 24, as World Polio Day in Junction City.
