Kansas sex offender jailed for attempted murder of girlfriend

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a shooting have a suspect in custody.

Just before 10 p.m.Thursday, police were dispatched to a shooting at a residence in the 1900 block of South Dellrose in Wichita, according to Officer Paul Cruz.

Upon the officer’s arrival, they located a 39-year-old woman with several gunshot wounds. She was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed the victim was at the residence with her boyfriend identified as 47-year-old Jeremy Fisher when a disturbance ensued. During the disturbance Fisher fired multiple shots striking the victim. The suspect fled the scene, and a short time later was located by officers in the City of Haysville.

 Police arrested Fisher on requested charges of attempted 1st-degree murder, criminal possession of a firearm, according to Cruz.  He remains jailed on a $350,000 bond, according to online jail records.
