Deputies capture two Kansas women wanted for arrest

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on multiple allegations after a police chase. 

Just before 8:30p.m. October 17, Shawnee County deputy with the attempted to conducted a traffic stop on a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe with an expired license plate near SW 21st Street and SW Fairlawn Road, according to Sheriff Brian Hill.

The driver refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The driver and passenger exited the vehicle near SW 19th Street and SW Quivira Drive and were quickly taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.

The driver, Brooke D. Currie-Schultz, 42, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of driving while license suspended, operating a vehicle without registration, interference with law enforcement, flee or attempt to elude law enforcement, failure to give signal when changing lanes or turning, improper driving on a laned roadway and a warrant for her arrest out of Saline County.

The passenger identified as Charity L. Currie-Schultz, 44, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County jail on a requested charge of possession of an opiate, interference with law enforcement and a warrant for her arrest out of Saline County.
