
WICHITA, KS. – A man has been sentenced to probation for the traffic deaths of two women in 2018 in south Wichita.
On Friday, Senior Judge Bob Fleming sentenced Tito Kyando, 40 of Wichita, to 36 months of probation with an underlying sentence of 32 months in prison, according to the Sedgwick County Attorney's office.
If Kyando violates probation, he could be ordered to serve the underlying sentence. The State had requested Judge Fleming sentence Kyando to 64 months in prison.
On September 4, 2018 Uriel Salabao, 23 of Wichita, and Miyah Latney, 22 of Wichita, were driving to a business near Spirit Aerosystems when their Ford Fiesta was struck by a Chevy Trailblazer at 31st Street South and Turnpike Drive.
After an investigation, Wichita Police found Kyando was driving 88 miles an hour in a 40-mile an hour zone, one second before the crash.
On March 4th, a jury found Kyando guilty of two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
