3 shot, Kan. man in custody after fight outside motel

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting and have a suspect in custody.

Just before 3a.m. Thursday, police responded to a report of an altercation at motel in the 600 block of NW U.S 24 Highway, according to Lt. John Trimble.

Officers arrived in the area and found that an altercation had taken place in the parking lot of a local business. Two subjects involved in the fight suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds. EMS transported them to a local hospital.

A couple of hour later, police reported they located a third shooting victim who was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested 20-year-old Jacob Reisinger and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Battery and Criminal Damage, according to Trimble.  Police have not released names of the victims.
