KANSAS CITY —An 18-year-old Kansas City man has been charged with multiple felony counts in connection with the the shooting of three victims in February 2022, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
David Emerson, 18, faces two counts of Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree, and three counts of Armed Criminal Action.
According to court records, after midnight on Feb. 21, 2022, police were alerted to bodies in a vehicle in a parking lot n the area of Linwood and Agnes Avenue.
Video of the scene showed the defendant leaning into the victims' vehicle, stepping back and discharging a firearm. Then firing again. A 5-year-old victim was found in the backseat of the vehicle. The child was shot in the eye. Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000 cash.
