JOHNSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 9:30a.m. Monday in Johnson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Dodge Challenger driven by Adam Christopher Townsend, 43, Kansas City, Kansas, was northbound on Interstate 35 just north of 159th Street. The car traveled off the roadway to the right, struck a KDOT signpost and a pillar of the Lone Elm Road Bridge.
Townsend was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Johnson County Medical Examiner Office. He was wearing a seatbelt and at time of the accident, according to the KHP.
