Junction City Mayor Jeff Underhill told a joint city - county - USD 475 meeting Monday that the group pursuing downtown revitalization felt that their recent presentation to state officials on the Main Street Program was successful, and they received "great feedback."
Underhill noted that they're waiting on an announcement from the Governor, and are hoping for good news. "We are still anticipating for the response from the Governor. We got really really good and positive feedback both at the state level and the national level, but we're not able to know or make any announcement until the governor officially makes the announcement. "
Junction City was one of four applicants to the Main Street Program, which is used to help revitalize downtowns. Up to three cities can be selected for the program.
