Kan. man, woman dead after crash with combine's header

NEOSHO COUNTY —Two people died in an accident just after 5:30p.m. Monday in Neosho County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Avalanche driven by Michael L. Drake, 67, Buffalo, Kan., was westbound on 160th Road just west of Ness Road.

The Chevy  collided with the header of an eastbound 2017 Case International combine driven by  Adam T. Kepley, 41, Chanute, on the bridge.

Drake and a passenger Marilyn A. Drake, 63, Buffalo, were pronounced dead at the scene and were transported to Countryside Funeral Home. Kepley was not injured. The occupants of the Avalanche were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
