K-State Women’s Basketball Adjusts Exhibition Game

MANHATTAN, Kansas – K-State women’s basketball has adjusted its exhibition opponent for the opening weekend of the 2020-21 season.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, K-State’s game at Fort Hays State has been canceled. The Wildcats will travel to Wichita, Kansas, to face Newman on Friday, November 27, at 6 p.m., at Fugate Gymnasium.

Attendance at Fugate Gymnasium will be limited to Pass List only. No visiting fans will be allowed due to limited capacity. The game will be available on The MIAA Network (themiaanetwork.com/newman).

K-State was selected for a fourth-place finish in the 2020-21 Big 12 Preseason Coaches Poll. The Wildcats will be led into the season by unanimous Preseason All-Big 12 selection and 2021 All-America candidate Ayoka Lee and Preseason All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection Rachel Ranke.

Kansas State returns nine letter winners for the 2020-21 season. K-State also welcomes in graduate transfer Sydney Goodson, junior Makayla Pippin, redshirt freshman Jada Thorpe from injury and freshmen Taylor Lauterbach and Jada Moore.

Following its exhibition game at Newman, the Wildcats will begin a seven-game home stand in non-conference action on Sunday, November 29, against Southern at 1 p.m.
