Two people have been arrested after explosive materials were found in a home in Hays.
The Kansas Highway Patrol’s Hazardous Devices Unit was called to the scene and disposed of the material off-site early Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday, Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler identified two suspects from the home that had been detained during the investigation. He confirmed the materials were explosive in nature, but declined to identify the material.

Shon Howard Mathwich, 41, Hays, was arrested on suspicion of criminal use of explosives, drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Amy Elizabeth Grove, 39, Hays, was arrested on suspicion of criminal use of explosives, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Grove was convicted in 2016 of drug possession in Barton County.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation also assisted in the investigation.
