BARTON COUNTY —A Kansas man is in custody on multiple allegations after a brief standoff in Great Bend.
At approximately 8 p.m. June 26, Sheriff's deputies were notified of a domestic violence incident that began on Anchor Way, just outside of the Great Bend city limits, according to the Barton County Sheriff's office. Deputies were advised that the suspect had chased the victim in another vehicle and intentionally rammed the victim's vehicle at least once.
Deputies located the victim at a separate location where she had fled and began interviewing her. She was transported to the University of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus for evaluation and treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.
During the investigation, deputies learned the female victim had been raped shortly before the suspect Ulises Andujo-Rayos used his vehicle to ram the victim's vehicle. The victim was able to escape from a bedroom window in an attempt to flee Andujo-Rayos.
Deputies responded to the address on Anchor Way, where they learned Andujo-Rayos had barricaded himself inside the residence and was armed with a knife. Deputies established contact with Andujo-Rayos, and after negotiations, convinced him to surrender without further incident.
Andujo-Rayos is being held on requested charges of aggravated battery, domestic battery, rape, and criminal damage to property.
