SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect following an alleged domestic incident at a fast food restaurant.
Just before 4p.m. Monday, police responded to Arbys, 5930 SW Huntoon Street in Topeka. on a report of a domestic disturbance involving an armed suspect, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
When officers arrived on scene, the suspect later identified as 25-year-old Jalen Malik Gerald-Donaldson of Topeka fled in a vehicle.
He later crashed the vehicle into another vehicle in the area of SW 6th Avenue and SW Fairlawn Road.
Officers from TPD and a Trooper from the Kansas Highway Patrol were able to locate the Gerald-Donaldson on foot nearby the crash scene. They also retrieved a gun from the scene.
Officers arrested Gerald-Donaldson and booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of Aggravated Assault, Interference with LEO, Domestic Battery, Criminal Trespass and other traffic charges resulting from the crash, according to Spiker.
