Homicide: Man shot inside Kansas City business

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.

Just before 11:45p.m. Friday, police officers were dispatched to report of a shooting in the 3900 block of Main in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez.

First responders were summoned to a nearby business where they located an a male victim later identified as 40-year-old Angelo D. Jones inside suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. Officers performed life-saving measures until EMS responded and transported Jones to an area hospital.  Jones succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital staff.

There is not currently any preliminary information indicating what transpired prior to the shooting. An adult male subject of interest is believed to have left the area on foot prior to police arrival.
