As of this past Monday 33% of the students enrolled in Geary USD 475 for the upcoming fall semester were in the remote learning category. Lacee Sell, Associate Superintendent, reviewed the numbers this week.

Sell explained as of last Monday the district was looking at a student population of about 30% of the elementary school students enrolled in remote learning. "This 910 students, pre-K through 5 that are enrolled in remote learning equates to anywhere between 35 to 37 teachers that we will need to be placing as remote learning teachers."

Sell noted that the middle schools had 36% of their students enrolled in remote learning. "At the high school we have 1,208 total students with 432 being online learning, remote learners, 776 in a building, and then 36% of the high school that's remote.

The associate superintendent explained the current numbers showed more than 1,800 students will be in an online remote learning classroom with 3,776 in a school equating to total student enrollment being 33% remote learning.

Remote learning enrollment closed on July 31 but enrollment in brick and mortar schools continues.
