DOUGLAS COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just before 4p.m. Friday in Douglas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Anthony M. Royal, 55, Mayetta, was south bound on Kansas 10 exiting to Bob Billings.
The driver failed to stop at the stop sign and struck an eastbound 2017 BMW X3 Series driven by John Thomas Kirby, 71, Lawrence.
EMS transported Kirby to Lawrence Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Royal was transported to Stormont Vail for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
