Police: Man pulled gun at 2 pharmacies in Kansas

SHAWNEE COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Nevada man in connection with two attempted aggravated robberies.

On Wednesday, officers responded to the Fairlawn Plaza Shopping Center located at SW 21st Street and SW Fairlawn Road for two separate, but related attempted armed robberies, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.

The suspect later identified as Trystan J. Mensler, 22 of Nevada reportedly entered the Dillons at 5311 SW 22nd Pl. and attempted to purchase prescription medication from the pharmacy. When the suspect was denied purchase, he brandished a firearm.

The suspect left without receiving anything and then went to the Walgreens at 2121 SW Fairlawn Rd. and tried the same thing, again receiving nothing.

Police located Mensler Thursday morning at the Econo Lodge located, 1518 SW Wanamaker Road and arrested  him on requested charges of attempted aggravated robbery.
