ELLIS COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating a deadly shooting outside a bar in Hays have identified the victim as 63-year-old Larry D. Braun, an Ellis County resident, according to a media release from Hays Police.
At 1:47 a.m. Sunday, police received a report of a shooting in the 1000 block of East Eighth Street, Hays. The caller went on to reported a man had been shot in the neck and was on the ground.
Emergency responders were dispatched and found Braun and began giving medical care until Ellis County Emergency Services transported Braun to Hays Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
Police arrested the alleged shooter, 40-year-old Keith A. Ostrom of of Hays on a requested charge of second-degree murder. Ostrom is currently being held in the Ellis County jail.
