SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a sexual assault and have a suspect in custody.
Just before 8:30a.m. Sunday, police responded to a disturbance at the Royal Lodge motel, 320 East Kellogg Street in Wichita, according to police Lt. Christian Cory.
A 23-year-old woman at the scene told police she left a business downtown when a suspect approached and walked her to the motel where she was sexually assaulted.
Investigators later learned of the involvement of 47-year-old Anthony Douglas of Wichita who is a registered sex offender.
On Sunday afternoon, police located Douglas at the business in the 100 Block of North Mosley and arrested him on requested charges of rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery and possession of marijuana, according to Cory.
