KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man was sentenced Tuesday for the shooting in July 2020 of Sharon Heifer-Douglas who was riding an ATV in the area of East Red Bridge and Bennington, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
A Jackson County judge sentenced 39-year-old Glenn Darren Rucker to 20-years in prison on his conviction of Murder 2nd Degree and 20 years on his conviction of Armed Criminal Action. The sentences were set to run concurrently.

Witnesses told police that the woman was traveling on Red Bridge on an ATV, with her dog walking along side her in the grass. An SUV pulled along side and fired shots at her.
A few days later, Kansas City police officers saw the vehicle and contacted Rucker. He was taken into custody. A handgun was found in the vehicle.
