FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect for an alleged violent attack that injured a baby.
Just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to the east part of Garden City for a reported battery, according to a media release.
Officers learned that 29-year-old Brandon Pugh and a woman known to him got into an argument when Pugh allegedly began punching the woman as she held a 2-month-old child.
At some point while battering the woman, Pugh struck the infant in the head. The infant was transported to St. Catherine Hospital by Finney County EMS and later flown to Wichita due to the extent of their injuries.
Pugh was arrested and is being held in the Finney County Jail on requested charges of Domestic Battery, Abuse of a Child and Aggravated Child Endangerment.
