Wanted Kan. suspect was driving spray-painted truck with expired plates

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Just before 2a.m. Thursday, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a spray painted 1996 Dodge Dakota pickup truck in the 2400 block of SW Fillmore Street for driving with an expired license plate, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

The driver, Christopher L. Allen (39) of Topeka, had a suspended driver’s license and two warrants for his arrest out of Shawnee County. During the investigation, the deputy located illegal narcotics.

Allen was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for his warrants and on requested charge of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license, vehicle registration violations and no vehicle liability insurance.
