Kansas woman dies from injuries after pickup lands in creek

SHAWNEE COUNTY —A Kansas woman injured in an accident just before 8:30p.m. Friday in Shawnee County has died of her injuries.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Dodge Ram driven by Lane Christian Hough, 22, Silver Lake, was westbound on Interstate 70 just east of West Union Road.

The pickup rear-ended a 1992 Ford Ranger driven by  Douglas  Foutz, 62, Topeka. After impact, the Ford traveled off the right side of the road, down an embankment and into a creek.

 EMS transported Foutz and a passenger Betty  Foutz, 63, Topeka, to Stormont Vail.  She died on Monday.  Hough was not injured.  The occupants of the Ford were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
