GRAHAM COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 2p.m. Monday in Graham County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Cobalt driven by Cody J. Johnson, 35, Hays, was southbound on U.S. 283 nine miles north of Hill City.
The vehicle traveled left of center and struck a northbound 2005 International semi driven by Kenneth L. Schemper, 75, Prairie View on the left front corner of the truck.
The Chevy came to rest in the east ditch and the semi came to rest in the west ditch.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Stinemetz Funeral Home in Hill City. Schemper was not injured. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
