KANSAS CITY (AP) — At least two people died and several others were injured early Friday in a shooting in a Kansas City warehouse district known as West Bottoms, police said.

Officers were called to the scene just after midnight Thursday, police said in a news release. Arriving officers found a man in a gas station parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds, and he died at the scene. Within minutes, police received word of multiple shooting victims arriving at an area hospital.

A woman among those victims later died from her wounds, police said. Police said they could not give an exact count of how many people were injured in the shooting, but believe at least three other people were shot. Those three are expected to survive, police said. The names of the victims were not immediately released, and no arrests were reported.

Police did not give details on what may have led to the shootings. Detectives were canvassing the area in search of witnesses, police said.
