Sheriff: Calif. driver jailed for meth possession in Kansas

JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects. 

Just after 9a.m. New Year's Eve, a sheriff’s Deputy stopped a Ford Explorer north of 134th Road on U.S. 75 for allegedly displaying a license plate that wasn’t assigned to the vehicle, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

The driver, Robert Motoyoski Thornbrough, 37, of Bakersfield, California, was arrested on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended and no insurance, according to Morse.

The passenger, Kimber Leigh Hunt, 32, of Topeka, was jailed on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.
