SALINE COUNTY — Four hundred round bales were destroyed in a fire late Thursday night just south of the rural Saline County community of Kipp.
The fire was reported at 11:40 p.m. after someone noticed an orange glow just south of town, according to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan. Soldan said the cause of the fire is not known at this time.
Firefighters with Rural Fire District No. 1 responded to the blaze and remained on the scene throughout the night to monitor the fire. The loss was estimated at $20,000.
