DOUGLAS COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after a domestic incident in northeast Kansas.
Just after 9a.m. Sunday, a police officer responded to a call regarding domestic violence against a family member in the 200 block of Eisenhower Street in Baldwin City and made contact with the individual, according to a media release. The suspect threw a large rock at the responding officer and then barricaded herself inside the residence.
Law Enforcement officers from Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Baldwin City Police Department forced entry into the residence and arrested the suspect, who has been identified as 34-year-old Jacqueline Smith.
Police booked her into the Douglas County jail on requested charges of domestic criminal damage and aggravated assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.
An affidavit is being submitted to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office for charging consideration.
