USD 475 is working on developing a 5-year strategic plan for the district. It will establish goals to assist the district in ensuring that efforts are focused on the areas that matter most to the district.
Sacha Dent, Marketing and Media Relations Coordinator said the strategic plan begins with a survey. It allows parents, staff, and community members to have input on what areas they feel the district should focus on for the next 5 years.
"The strategic plan process gives us an opportunity to think outside the box, to dream, and to envision what we want the district to be and to offer our young people in our community, said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Reginald Eggleston.
The survey was released to the public this week. The survey will remain open for three weeks to ensure that the district receives as much input as possible from the residents of Geary County and the families of USD 475 students. It is open to all residents of Geary County, even if they do not have school-aged children.
The next phase of creating the strategic plan is to have community Zoom sessions, to allow community members the opportunity to provide input to the Superintendent directly. Dr. Reginald Eggleston, Superintendent of Geary County Schools, will host two Zoom sessions that will be open to the public.
The Zoom sessions will be held on Tuesday, January 19. The first session will be at 11:30 am, and the second session will be at 5:30 pm.
Employees of the district, parents of students, and community members can choose to join the meetings by clicking on the appropriate link below.
Participants will not be permitted to be on video or audio. Anyone that wishes to comment can do so by typing into the chat box in the Zoom meeting. The responses will be collected and shared with the Board of Education, so that they can consider the concerns and suggestions from the community while they are developing the plan.
