2 hospitalized after crash with fire dept. vehicle in McPherson

MCPHERSON COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just before 2:30p.m. Wednesday in McPherson.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2021 McPherson Fire Department  Ford F250 driven by Timothy John Wyssmann, 38, McPherson, was northbound on Main Street at National Avenue running lights and sirens to a call.

A 2003 Ford Taurus driven by Mary Elizabeth Ramsey, 77, Marion, pulled out in front of the F250.  The fire department vehicle struck the car.

EMS transported Ramsey to a hospital in Wichita.  A private vehicle transported a passenger in the fire department Ford identified as Jenae Kathryn Pfeiff, 29, McPherson, to the McPherson Center for Health. Wyssmann was not injured. Ramsey was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
