For the first time since 2014 the Junction City Blue Jays qualified a full team for the Class 6A State Cross Country meet. Competing Saturday at the 4 Mile Creek Resort in Augusta, the Blue Jays finished 12th out of 12 teams but did have a 25th place finish by Tyler Atkins in 17:12.6.
Also for the Blue Jays, Tyler Raulston finished 93rd in 19:34.5, Isaiah Smith 94th in 19:38.5, Carlos Lozano 95th in 19:43.7, Blake Reed 96th in 19:51.8, Neil Naputo 100th in 20:22.2 and Evan Hall 102nd in 20:47.1.
There was also an entry for the Junction City Lady Jays. Lorna Rae Pierce finished 65th in 21:44.5
