Inmate indicted for hotel robberies in Kansas

WICHITA, KAN. – A federal grand jury in Wichita returned an indictment charging an Oklahoma man with two counts of interference with interstate commerce by robbery, two counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, according to the United State's Attorney.

According to court documents, Darrell E. Black, 28, of Midwest City allegedly committed armed robberies at the Extended Stay America hotel in Wichita on May 27, 2017, and at the Days Inn and Suites hotel in Wichita on May 29, 2017.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is investigating the case. Black is currently in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for burglary and drug convictions, according to online jail records.
