SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a man near his home.

Just after 11:30p.m. Monday, police responded to report of a shooting at a home in the 1600 Block of North Erie in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

At the scene, police located a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his arm.  EMS transported him to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He remained hospitalized late Tuesday, according to Davidson.

Investigators learned the victim was inside the residence along with a 60-year-old woman when an unknown suspect in a silver or grey sedan fired shots at the home injuring the man. The woman was not injured. The vehicle was last seen traveling southbound on Erie.

Police do not believe this is a random incident and are asking the public for help with information in the case.
