
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect following a burglary in Shawnee County.
Just after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call regarding a vehicle burglary and theft that just occurred in the 5800 block of NW 75 Highway, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
Deputies responded and, with information from a citizen, were able to locate the suspect vehicle. The red 2018 Chevrolet Colorado was stopped near NE 24 Highway and NE Goldwater Road.

During the investigation deputies located multiple stolen items from the recent burglary and items associated with other Jefferson County cases. They arrested Lindsey L. Wabaunsee, 34, Topeka and Jessica, D. Garza, 32, of Horton and booked them Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
Wabaunsee is being held on requested charges of burglary, theft, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and transporting an open container. Garza is being held on requested charges of burglary, theft, possession of stolen property and felony criminal damage to property.
