
SEDGWICK COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 4:30p.m. Monday in Sedgwick County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Kia Optima driven by David Donald Lee Bryant, 42, Wichita, was westbound on Kansas 96 just west of Greenwich Road in the left lane.. The driver changed lanes into the right lane. The Kia changed lanes into the right lane.
A 2007 Toyota Tacoma driven by Robert Wayne Galloway, 53, Wichita, was westbound in the left lane. The Kia traveled partially into the merging lane from Greenwich on ramp. The driver then overcorrected to the left and returned to the left lane and struck the Toyota Tacoma on the passenger side. The impact caused both vehicles to cross into the median. The Kia continued partially on the inside shoulder of eastbound Kansas 96 and then returned to the median. The Tacoma traveled into the eastbound lanes of Kansas 96 and struck the driver's side on an eastbound 2018 Chevy Volt driven by Chloe Hope Kidwell, 18, Wichita. After impact a 2014 Ram 1500 driven by Owen Grant Shigley, 32, Augusta T-boned the passenger side of the Tacoma.
Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center. There were no other transported. Galloway and Shigley were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
