
SEDGWICK COUNTY– A suspect is in custody following a fatal shooting on a City of Wichita bus Thursday afternoon.
Just after 3:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at South Meridian and West Burton. When officers arrived, they found a 54-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Sedgwick County EMS pronounced him deceased on scene.

Investigators determined that both the suspect, identified from booking records as 34-year-old Travis L. Finney and the victim were passengers on the bus and knew each other.
There is no ongoing threat to the public. Police did not release the victim's name late Thursday. Finney is being held on requested charges that include murder in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, robbery, probation violation, domestic battery and aggravated domestic battery.
