
WYANDOTTE COUNTY —The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department Traffic Division continues to investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident and are working to identify the victim.
Just after 8:30a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to report of an accident in the 4300 block of State Line Road, according to a statement from KCK Officer Jovanna Cheatum.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a man deceased in the roadway. The initial investigation revealed a large construction dump truck struck the pedestrian and left the scene. Police located the driver of the vehicle, according to Cheatum. They are cooperating with detectives. An autopsy is scheduled on the victim for Thursday and police are hopeful this might help to identify him.
