Robert Dean Gott, 95, of Manhattan, passed away Monday evening, August 16th, at the Stoneybrook Retirement Community. Bob worked for Southwestern Bell "Ma Bell" as a lineman and repeaterman until his retirement in 1984. Robert "Bob" Gott was born in Topeka, on March 17, 1926, the son of the late Arletta Myrtle (Yocum) and Keith Loren Gott. He attended Highland Park schools in Topeka. Bob joined the US Navy, where he received his GED, and was stationed on the USN SC536 (Sub Chaser) during WWII. He was married on Aug 25, 1947 in Alma, KS to Betty Lou Diel. During his retirement he played many rounds of golf at Stagg Hill Golf course where he volunteered with renovations of the clubhouse, he was a ticket taker for KSU football games, enjoyed Wildcat basketball, and enjoyed spending time with his many friends. Bob was a member of the Elks, American Legion and the VFW where he was a lifetime member. Bob is survived by his wife, Betty of almost 74 years; daughters Vicki (Bruce) Yarnell of Shawnee and Robin (Steve) Beckley of Atwood, Kansas; and a son, Mike Gott of Gardner. Also surviving is a sister, Donna Hayek, of Topeka; three grandchildren, Jason Beckley, Shelly Beckley, Kori Beckley Rawls; five great grandchildren, Brooklyn Yarnell, Cash Beckley, Dylan Beckley, Lucas Southard, and Resa Lou Southard. Clarence R. Erichsen was born May 24, 1927 in a large two-story house at the corner of Clark’s Creek Road and Kansas Highway 57. He was the first child to Christian and Ada (Spittles) Erichsen. He passed away Tuesday, August 17 at Geary Community Hospital at the age of 94. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Xavier Catholic Church with Fr Frank Coady officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to mass, 9 to 10 a.m. at St. Xavier Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to St. Xavier’s Catholic Church, 218 S. Washington St., Junction City, KS 66441. Clancey, as he was often called, grew up in Junction City attending local schools and riding his bicycle to baseball practice and games. He graduated from Junction City High School in 1946 and kept in close contact with many of his high school classmates. He was proud of his Blue Jays. While in school he worked various jobs including delivering groceries for 50-cents a day; setting pins at the bowling alley and helping his mother in her café. While still a teen, he traveled to Ohio with his boss from the bowling alley and competed in a duck-pin tournament where they both won champion. He was active in sports throughout school and was a big sports fan in general always making time to watch KU Basketball, Notre Dame Football or Kansas City Royals Baseball. Shortly after graduation Clarence enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his service he returned to Junction City and worked at a few odd jobs before deciding he wanted to be a car mechanic. He worked at several dealerships and it was work he enjoyed. Eventually Clarence went to work at Fort Riley as a motor pool inspector, retiring in 1995 after 30 years. Along the way he married his high school sweetheart, Bernice Boller on June 23, 1949 at St. Xavier’s Catholic Church. He and Bernice were extremely devoted to their family, their church and the community. Clarence was greatly involved with the formation of a football program at St. Xavier’s High School and was active in coaching as well. He coached junior high basketball and numerous baseball teams during the summer. He was a Boy Scout Leader, a member of the American Legion, and served on many committees for St. Xavier’s Church and Schools. He was an active member in the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. During retirement Clarence enjoyed golfing, mowing the parish yard and spending time at his parents’ farm where his mother lived until her early 90s before passing away at age 103. He was extremely proud of his home he and Bernice had built in 1964, the yard and always kept his cars in meticulous shape. As he liked to say, he enjoyed “puttering.” Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, on Aug. 20, 2020. He is survived by their five children and families: Steve Erichsen and fiancé Debbie Jones; Eileen and husband Dale Small; Rock and wife, Liz Erichsen; Dennis Erichsen; Jeanette and husband Marte DeMars, all of Geary County; grandchildren; Stephanie Edmonson, Kelly Kramer, Christian Erichsen, Crystal Erichsen, Chrissa Erichsen, Hailey Browning; nine great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law Wilma Lathrop and Peggy Boller; brother-in-law Bob Wilson and dozens of nieces and nephews. Octavia O. Crenshaw (Bowers), age 84, departed this world on August 13, 2021, at Valley View Senior Living, Junction City, Kansas. She was born in Louisiana, Missouri, on February 18, 1937, to Muriel V. and Etna Marie (Dennis) Bowers. She was married to Jerry Ray Crenshaw on Feb 28, 1961, in Hannibal, Missouri. During his military service, they resided in Hannibal, Missouri, and Corpus Christi (Flour Bluff), Texas. They moved to Junction City, Kansas in January 1974. Octavia moved to Valley View Senior Living in November 2018. She spent many happy hours playing bingo and loved to show off the treasures she won. She adored the staff and they adored her. She is survived by her children: John (Doris) Reed, Ruby Davis, Jerry (Lana) Crenshaw, Jr. and Rebecca Crenshaw, all of Junction City, Kansas. Her grandchildren Shannon Harris, Michael (Elizabeth) Davis, James (Schera) Davis, Jonathon Zettler, Christopher Zettler, Jennifer (Tiffany) Crenshaw, Stephen Zettler Crenshaw, Aaron (Addison) Davis, Krystina Crenshaw, Kayleen (Gunnar) Richards, and Trevor Crenshaw. Brian Eugene Gould, 52, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at his home. Cremation will take place. A graveside service at Highland Cemetery will be announced at a later date. He worked as a concrete mason for over thirty years. During his spare time, you could find him working in his garden at home. He enjoyed fixing and repairing vehicles. Brian liked hunting, fishing, watching and attending NASCAR events. He enjoyed country music concerts and was a good country line dancer. Brian enjoyed a good game of pool. He was always willing to help anyone with anything or anytime. Brian was a kind hearted "free spirit" that always had a good joke or prank. Jerris Letourneau, 97, of Clay Center, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, Kansas.&nbsp; She was born December 10, 1923 east of Idana at her grandparents’ home, the daughter of Earl and Gertrude (Campbell) Tobyne.&nbsp; Jerris graduated from Clay Center High School in 1940.

She married Leo Letourneau on December 6, 1940 and they made their home in Corvallis, Oregon, where Leo was a surveyor.&nbsp; They moved to Bennington, Kansas after Leo was discharged from the Army, where they resided for 40 years.&nbsp; Jerris became a beautician in 1946 and she owned and operated the Klip N Kurl in Bennington.&nbsp; The couple moved back to Clay Center in 1997, where Leo resided in Medicalodge until his death and then Jerris moved to Parkview Plaza for 21 years.&nbsp; At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Clay Center Presbyterian Manor.&nbsp; Jerris was a member of the Idana Presbyterian Church. &nbsp;She is preceded in death by parents, husband, daughter, Kathy Ann Letourneau and son, Dennis Letourneau.

Leonard "Clem" Beikmann, 82, of Clifton, died Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Salina Regional Medical Center.&nbsp; He was born on August 21, 1938 at Clifton, Kansas the son of Albert and Rosa (Ohlde) Beikmann.&nbsp;

Clem grew up in the Clifton area and graduated from Linn High School in 1956.&nbsp; He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman.&nbsp; After his service, Clem returned to the Clifton area, where he farmed his entire life.&nbsp; He worked in Iowa, building grain bins for 3 years and he worked construction, building roads and bridges in Kansas.&nbsp; Clem also spent many years working for Clay Center Livestock Sales and Junction City Livestock Sales. &nbsp;

He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Linn American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jennice Wright.

He is survived by 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Oneita Mae Evans, 92, passed away August 13, 2021 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on December 14, 1928 at the family farm in Clay County, the daughter of John Edward and Mildred Margie Mae (Sanneman) Musselman. She attended Idylwild School and graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1947. After graduation she worked at Easy Pay Tire Store, Resler's Style Shope, Weimer's Drug Store and Duckwall's.

On April 15, 1955, she married Donald W. Evans in Concordia. They farmed near Fact until 1956, when they moved to the May Day community. In 1969, they moved to the Green community. Oneita moved to Clay Center in 1988 and worked at Banner 5-10 and Gibson's until her retirement in 2013.

Oneita was active in the Fancy Creek Zion United Methodist Church, the Green United Methodist Church and the Clay Center United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W. Evans, December 4, 1985, her parents, and her son-in-law, Alfred Beichter.

Oneita Mae Evans, 92, passed away August 13, 2021 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.She was born on December 14, 1928 at the family farm in Clay County, the daughter of John Edward and Mildred Margie Mae (Sanneman) Musselman. She attended Idylwild School and graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1947. After graduation she worked at Easy Pay Tire Store, Resler's Style Shope, Weimer's Drug Store and Duckwall's.On April 15, 1955, she married Donald W. Evans in Concordia. They farmed near Fact until 1956, when they moved to the May Day community. In 1969, they moved to the Green community. Oneita moved to Clay Center in 1988 and worked at Banner 5-10 and Gibson's until her retirement in 2013.Oneita was active in the Fancy Creek Zion United Methodist Church, the Green United Methodist Church and the Clay Center United Methodist Church. Robert "Bob" Mall, age 75, died August 12, 2021 at his home in Clay Center.&nbsp; Bob was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma on August 12, 1946, the son of Katheryn Ann Chilcoat Mall and Jack D. Mall.&nbsp; Bob attended grade school in Topeka, Ks and Clay Center.&nbsp; He graduated from Clay Center high school in 1964.&nbsp; Bob felt it was a great honor to be inducted into the Clay Center Tiger Hall of Fame.

Bob secured a full scholarship and earned Business Administration Bachelors and Masters degrees at Kansas University.&nbsp; Later he earned a post-graduate degree in Senior Management from Harvard University.&nbsp;

Bob worked for the U.S. Customs Service in a variety of positions and locations.&nbsp; After starting as an Import Specialist in Kansas City, he had roles as Port Director in Tampa, District Director in New Orleans, Assistant Regional Commissioner in Chicago, Deputy Assistant Commissioner in D.C, U.S. Customs Attaché and World Customs Organization Diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in Brussels, Belgium.

Through his career, he was able to oversee operations at Atlanta and JFK airports.&nbsp; As a Senior Executive, he was involved in a number of trade negotiations for the U.S. Department of State that opened up international markets to U.S. products.&nbsp; His methods became an international standard.&nbsp; For this, Bob received the Presidential Merit Award from President George H. W. Bush.&nbsp; He also participated in nuclear department negotiations with the governments of Russia and Belarus.

Bob married Vicky Thompson on April 14, 1967.&nbsp; He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kelly Mall.&nbsp; Survivors are wife, &nbsp;Vicky of the home; son Kyle (Tish) Mall of Battle Creek, Michigan; grandkids, Jake (Chelsea) and Chelcie; great grandkids Owen (O), Peyton Jay (PJ), Zaiden (Z), and Lucas all of Battle Creek, Michigan.&nbsp;

Donna J. Watson, 74 of Abilene passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021. She was born February 25, 1947 in Parkerville, Kansas, the daughter of Dayton and Anna (Longon) Watson. She graduated from Council Grove High School. Donna worked as a cook for various restaurants.

She is survived by her children: Twila Jeffrey (Doug); Tim Grimmett; Tammy Mitchell (James) Four granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and two more greats on the way and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and a grandson, Landon.

Warren D. Roblyer, age 87, of Manhattan, died August 12, 2021, at the Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice in Manhattan. He was born March 25, 1934, in Sargent, NE, the son of Lawrence and Effie (Webb) Roblyer. Warren grew up in Randolph, and lived in Riley for 10 years prior to moving to Manhattan in 1969. On May 31, 1959, at the Olsburg Lutheran Church he was married to Colleen J. Larson. Warren was a union carpenter prior to building many homes in Manhattan as Roblyer Custom Homes. He sold many custom homes and also built several that he rented. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and thoroughly enjoyed attending church, hearing the message, the music, and the fellowship following the service. He was also a life-long member of Kansas Farm Bureau. Warren was a huge Kansas State Football fan. He loved spending time with people and always was interested in learning about you. Survivors include his wife Colleen of Manhattan; and their daughter Tracie Burke of Parkville, MO. Warren was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Joan Hungerford Crumpton. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 20th, 2021, at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1110 College Avenue, Manhattan, with Reverends James Hawley and Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Funeral services for Maridean Lee (Durham) Bebermeyer, age 81, of Salina, formerly of Abilene, will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Danner Funeral Home in Abilene with Pastor Ron Bowell officiating. Mrs. Bebermeyer passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Brookdale Salina Kirwin Senior Living in Salina. She was born December 20, 1939 in Abilene the daughter of Dean and Marie (Woodside) Simpson. She graduated from DCCHS in Chapman, KS in 1957. Following graduation she was the Secretary to the Dickinson Superintendent of Schools until 1966. She then became the Secretary to Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools for the Chapman School District until her retirement in 1996. Maridean served on the Board of Directors of the Irish Foundation and on the Scholarship Committee and on the Chapman High School Meritorious Graduate. Maridean also was a part of the Cheever EEU Ladies, the Dickinson County EEU Council, and was a life member of the Talmage Historical Museum. She is survived by her daughter Amy and her husband Scott Allen of Salina, son Jay Durham and his wife Andrea of Salina, step sons Bevin Bebermeyer and his wife Sue of Clay Center, Rylan Bebermeyer and his wife Anne of Davenport, Iowa, Arlan Bebermeyer and his wife Carolyn of Sedgwick, Kalen Bebermeyer and his wife Ann of Belleville, Daren Bebermeyer of Abilene, and brother Joe Simpson of Navarre, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Mrs. Bebermeyer passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Brookdale Salina Kirwin Senior Living in Salina. She was born December 20, 1939 in Abilene the daughter of Dean and Marie (Woodside) Simpson. She graduated from DCCHS in Chapman, KS in 1957. Following graduation she was the Secretary to the Dickinson Superintendent of Schools until 1966. She then became the Secretary to Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools for the Chapman School District until her retirement in 1996. Maridean served on the Board of Directors of the Irish Foundation and on the Scholarship Committee and on the Chapman High School Meritorious Graduate. Maridean also was a part of the Cheever EEU Ladies, the Dickinson County EEU Council, and was a life member of the Talmage Historical Museum. Lorie never earned her master’s degree, but had more than double the hours needed. She enjoyed learning! Lorie started her career at Augusta, KS, but spent most of her 36 years of teaching between Abilene and Chapman K-8. Lorie loved her students and went above and beyond for them. She was referred to as “a force to be reckoned with”. She was a member of the Woodbine United Methodist Church, the Jolly Jays 4-H Club, the Dickinson County Rural Life Association, the Kansas Special Olympics, the International Reading Association, the Eisenhower Reading Council, and the Kansas Reading Council. She loved reading and working outdoors in the mornings. On August 13, 1988, Lorie was united in marriage to Scott Robert Flippo in Abilene. He survives of the home. Christine was born in Manhattan Kansas where she spent her early child hood attending Manhattan area public schools. At the age of nine, she was baptized during a candle light Christmas Eve service at University Christian Church. She later went on to earn her General Education Degree in the State of Wisconsin. Christine has always been witty, mischievous and playful. She prides herself in her fluency in sarcasm and her colorful sense of humor. She will always be remembered as a daughter, a sister, a wife and a friend, but Christine’s proudest accomplishment is being a mother. Christine’s spirit has and always will love her children fiercely. She is survived by her husband, Nate Reeves and her four children: Olivia Grace, Gavin Thomas, Nathan Casey and Luna May along with her step children Tori and Shelby. James Phillip Fells passed away August 8, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan. He was born November 14, 1937 in Manchester, Kansas the son of Clifford James and Anna Elizabeth (Strauss) Fells. James graduated from Woodbine High School in 1955. Later went on and attended Wichita State University. On November 9, 1957 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Irene Minick.

 Over the years James had many jobs that included working for Firestone, Edgington Music, Montgomery Wards and KJCK. He also started several businesses including Fairview TV, F&amp;S TV and Radio Shack, Magnavox &amp; Zenith Franchises in Junction City. He was a member of the Woodbine Methodist Church, Lions Club, Woodbine City Council, Union Township Board, Volunteer Fireman, Herington Senior Center Board Member and Chairman, UMYF Leader. He was also active on many church committees over the years and led bible study at Herington Senior Center.

 James is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of the home. Son, Michael (Patricia) Fells of Mulvane and daughters; Cynda Fells of Woodbine, Brenda Fransen of Grand Junction, Colorado. Granddaughters: Jennifer (Kristopher) Miller of Topeka; Michele (Austin) Ellington of El Dorado; Christy Fells of Wichita; Kelly Fells of Mulvane. Seven Great-Grandchildren: Maya, Ammi, K’Draya, Michael, Houston, Kassidy, and Kristopher and a brother, Eugene Fells of Herington. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Stanley Fells and one great-grandson, Aiden.

Her greatest joys were her son Jacob, her grandchildren, her goldendoodle Wally and photography. She recently retired as a Civil Service Human Resource Assistant at Fort Riley. She will be remembered as a fighter that always found a way to bring joy to those around her with her smile and laugh even during life’s challenges. Lawrence was born June 26, 1937, in Cleveland, OH the son of Luther and Bertha (Fisher) Whatley. Lawrence served in the United States Army. After his retirement from the Army, he owned and operated Red Carpet Cleaning for many years in Junction City. He was a Mason. At one time, he was a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge # 91 in Junction City. He married Wilhelmine Mehrlein September 27, 1963 in Germany at the Johnson Barracks in Furth, Germany. Survivors include his wife Wilhelmine of the home in Junction City, KS; two sons, Lawrence "Larry" Whatley, II (Lorrie Torres) of Junction City, KS and Heinz Whatley (Wanda) of Warner Roberts, GA; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Bertha Robinson; one brother and two sisters.&nbsp;&nbsp;
