Terence Joseph McGhee, age 87, died on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in Manhattan, Kansas.&nbsp;

Terry grew up in New Jersey as one of ten children of Terence and Teresa (Soden) McGhee. He lived in many places over the course of his life, from Kansas, to Nebraska, to New Orleans, to Pennsylvania, to Florida, and he also worked and traveled extensively in Latin America. He worked as a professor of Civil Engineering at the University of Nebraska, Tulane University, and Lafayette College. He was the rare engineer who loved language, and he could finish the most difficult New York Times crossword puzzles in ink.&nbsp;

His wife, Diane Dodson McGhee, died in 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret McGhee, of Manhattan, Kansas.

Terence Joseph McGhee

George Arthur Dillon, 57, of Hartford, South Dakota passed away October 19, 2023, with his loving wife by his side.

George was born May 30, 1966, to Charles and Shirley (Long) Dillon in Manhattan, KS and grew up in Ogden, KS. He attended Luckey High School and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1984 - he participated in football as well as track and field. He went to work for Dillon Painting which he owned and operated with family after attending Kansas State University.

He then semi-retired, moving to South Dakota in 2020, which was a dream for George, becoming the best stay-at-home dog-dad and personal chef! This move allowed him to focus on his hobbies and the beauty of the mountains and Black Hills though, the town of Ogden, KS held a special place in George’s heart as he was always looking to improve and advocate for his community. This included long drives around town keeping a watchful eye and checking in with all the townspeople – many times in the company of his dear friend and confidante, Marcy Gieber. He was a mentor to many, always helping others.

George was the life of the party, a great host and didn’t know a stranger. He was known for his amazing BBQ sauce, jerky and the smoked meats that he made and gifted to family and friends. Many joked that he needed to add a catering company to this list of businesses he owned! George and Rosio enjoyed attending street dances with live music whenever they were able.

You could see George drinking a good ole’ Busch Light and he had a special sweet tooth for all things chocolate. He appreciated a good steak or prime rib and was always ready to attend any fish fry, and you could find him road hunting wild asparagus to share with others in the late spring.

George was quite adventurous and never hesitated to go off the beaten path. George and Rosio loved to travel across the world, try new things and admire the beauty of nature! On their trip to Iceland, George was able to fly first class for the first time, staying awake for 48 hours straight to enjoy the majestic beauty of area. In Alaska, they were seconds away from missing the boat as George was enjoying hanging out with the locals, one of his favorite things to do when traveling. He enjoyed salmon fishing and exploring the area on their Alaskan adventure as well.

He enjoyed his little slice of heaven at his cabin in Fedora, SD. He was part owner of Wild Bird Lodge where he spent his days hunting and fishing as well as helping to beautify the cabin for everyone's enjoyment. George wasn’t afraid to tackle a project, especially with friends at the cabin! He loved organizing fishing trips for those who would visit and was a gracious guide, always making sure that everyone had a great time. He treasured sharing this place with friends, and most importantly, with his nephew, Troy Ward. He looked forward to pheasant hunting each October and was a master angler often catching the largest walleye on his fishing trips with friends.

George was the most kindhearted, patient, and funny man that truly enjoyed every minute of life. He approached life with a vibrant passion, embracing his hobbies and experiences. George’s departure from this world leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but he has graduated to his biggest adventure ever!

He is survived by his wife, Rosio Duarte-Dillon, Hartford, SD; brother David Ward, Ogden, KS; sister Pam (Dillon) Gieber, Ogden, KS; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; many cousins as well as many close friends that he considered family.

Preceding him in death was his mother and father, Charles and Shirley (Long) Dillon as well as his sister Karen Kemnitz.

His spouse, Rosio, will greet friends and family during a visitation from 6:00 until 7:30p.m. Thursday November 9, 2023 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan.

A Vigil Service will follow the visitation a 7:30 p.m. Thursday November 9 at the funeral home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Nelson’s Family Farm in Olsburg, KS at 4:00 p.m. Friday November 10, 2023.&nbsp; We will celebrate George with his favorite foods, drinks and live music.

George Arthur Dillon

Mary Louise Alejandro (Marylou), 76, of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on Thursday (October 19, 2023) at her home in Wamego.

Born August 26, 1947 in Renton, Washington, Marylou was the daughter of Douglas and Elizabeth (Callus) Harris.

Marylou was a member of the Baha’i Faith. She grew up in Seattle and moved to Estes Park where she lived for over three decades. &nbsp;She loved the beauty of the mountains. But most importantly, the strong bonds she formed there. Estes Park allowed her a second chance to live a happier, healthier life. She enjoyed being with her AA women’s group of friends and the Baha'i community there. &nbsp;After she retired &nbsp;she moved to Wamego, here she had a second chance to reconnect with her daughter. Marylou loved her family and her pets and will be remembered as one who was happy and full of love. She had the unique gift of being at peace where ever she was.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and had worked in social work teaching others life skills. She had also been employed at Boeing, sold her sister Kristin's jewelry at the Pike Place market in Seattle, Harmony Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center, Rocky Mountain YMCA and then as a clerk with Sgt. Pepper’s Music Store in Estes Park until her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Shami McQuay (Tyler Currie) of Wamego; two brothers, Bill Harris and Doug Harris (Tutka); two sisters, Kristin Wilson and Dadene Street; nephews, Rainn Wilson, Will Harris, Dee Harris; and nieces, Erika street, Crystal Harris, and Mercedes Harris&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;Marylou was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy was born September 17, 1955, in Junction City, Kansas the daughter of Albert Dillard and Nancy (Moyer) Kerby. Nancy graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1973. She worked for North Kansas Savings and First State Bank. Nancy loved gardening, spending time outdoors and spending time with her boys and grandchildren. She married Michael J. Day June 29, 1974, in Junction City, Kansas.

Nancy Diane Day

Clifford Eugene “Doc” Noffsinger, age 88, died October 17, 2023, at the Clay County Medical Center, Clay Center, KS. He was born during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl years, the youngest of seven on September 18, 1935, in Osborne, Kansas to Lysle and Ruth (Galley) Noffsinger. Cliff grew up in the Osborne area and graduated from Osborne High School. &nbsp;He then went on to Kansas State University earning a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1963.

 Cliff married the love of his life Delilah “Dee” Thaete on August 15, 1959. They made their home in Atchison, Kansas while Cliff worked for Dr. Watson. They then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska for a brief period, where Cliff worked as a meat inspector, then as a veterinarian until the family moved to Clay Center, Kansas in 1969. After working for Dr. Linder for a few years, Cliff started his own veterinary practice in 1972. He retired in 2015 at the age of 80 and closed his veterinary practice in 2021. Cliff enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding tractors, and gardening. He (and his uncle, a previous Clay Center veterinarian, Dr. Frank Galley) was very creative in modifying cattle chutes, an operating table, leg braces, medical equipment, etc. to fit the needs of the animal. Cliff was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, American Veterinary Medical Association, Kansas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Kansas Livestock Association.

 He is preceded in death by parents; siblings; Clyde Noffsinger, Marjorie Jackson, Dorothy Detwiler, Wayne Noffsinger, Marietta Goering, and Lyla Legg.

She was born on March 9, 1944, to Verlin and Maxine (O' Ferrel) Day in Blue Rapids, Kansas.&nbsp; Jane attended Junction City High School and graduated in 1960. After high school she was married to her first husband and had their first daughter together, Tinamarie, shortly after they had their second daughter, Debbie-Ann.&nbsp; After ten years of marriage, Homer and Jane decided to divorce. Jane then met Talton, her loving husband of 53 years. Talton came back from Vietnam and immediately knew that was his future wife. Being a military spouse caused her to move around to places such as Hawaii and Europe along with their children. In her later years, she worked for Dillards in Manhattan, Kansas. She took this position because of her love of fashion and clothing. She enjoyed working this job for two years. Jane was a faithful Christian and led numerous family and friends to Christ. She was always active in her church community, she will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband, daughter, Tinamarie, and a host of other loving family and friends. Jane was preceded by her daughter, Debbie-Ann and her siblings.

Russel K. Altwegg, 88, of Chapman, passed away on October 16, 2023. Visitation with family and friends will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Zion United Church of Christ, located at 1811 McFarland Road, Junction City, KS 66441. Russel was born on October 6, 1935 in Junction City, KS to Kermit and Helen (Acker) Altwegg. He graduated from Dickinson County Chapman High School, Class of 1953. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, lifelong farmer, and conservationist. He enjoyed all aspects of nature, watching the sun come up and the wildlife in the fields, and leaving a place for them to live and populate. Russel served on the Church Board, Chapman Valley Manor Board, and was awarded the Young Farmer of the Year for Dickinson County in 1965. He drove a school bus for the Chapman District for 38 years. He loved his family and loved watching them achieve their goals in life. He enjoyed attending his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's events.Russel married Sally Odle May 18, 1958; they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this year.

Francis Eugene Shinn was born on January 30, 1931, in Vandalia, Missouri. He worked as a taxicab driver for 26 years, in Junction City, Kansas. He and his wife, Hyon, met while he was driving the cab. They were married in Kansas City, Missouri in 2000. He is Survived by his wife, Hyon and his son, Larry of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Margaret Shinn.He will be buried in the Veterans Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas. Francis will be remembered as a simple man, with a kind heart, and a good sense of humor. Arlen Milton Richter, age 79 of Barnes, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023 at his daughter’s residence in Kansas City, Missouri.

He was born on April 18, 1944, in Waterville, the son of Milton William and Hulda Elizabeth (Steenbock) Richter.

On December 22, 1962, he married Dixie Marie Gross in Marysville.&nbsp; She preceded him in death in 2019.

Arlen was a lifetime farmer and member of the Fancy Creek Zion United Methodist Church.&nbsp; He also worked as a welder for Linn Post and Pipe.&nbsp; He served on the Barnes Elevator Board and enjoyed tractor pulls, camping, and fixing antique tractors.

He is survived by two daughters, Becky Schurle of Clay Center and Cindy Richter of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Derek Richter of Ottawa, and four grandchildren, Blaine Schurle, Trevin Schurle, Jacey Schurle and Vanessa Richter.

In addition to his wife Dixie, he was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Janice Johnson and one brother, Carroll Richter.

William "Bill" Malcolm, 74, died October 15, 2023, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka KS. &nbsp;He was born January 14, 1949, in Wichita, KS to Jack M. and Marjorie E. Malcolm. &nbsp;Bill graduated from Wichita South High School in 1967. &nbsp;He pursued his college education at Wichita State University then went on to complete his Law Degree at Washburn Law School, Topeka, KS. &nbsp;He had a very successful Law Practice in Clay Center, KS. &nbsp;Later in his career, he was retained for 2 terms as a Magistrate Judge in Clay and Riley County. &nbsp;Bill was a very honorable, respected, and dedicated Judge in which he took a great amount of pride! &nbsp;He was a compassionate man who viewed life through the lens of fairness and truth. &nbsp;He had an enthusiasm for conversation. &nbsp;Not only did he love to talk and share his time and opinions with others, but he had an amazing gift of listening. &nbsp;He always carried a sense of humor with him and laughed easily. &nbsp; Bill found joy in simple things, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. &nbsp;He also was very proud to be a K-State football and basketball fan. &nbsp;Bill was proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Marjorie Malcolm. &nbsp;Bill will be sorely missed by all his family, friends, colleagues, and community!

William "Bill" Malcolm

Sandra Lee Emley, 88, died peacefully the morning of October 14, 2023 at the Good Shepherd Homecare and Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.

Sandra (Isaacson) Emley was born in Yorktown, Iowa on March 23, 1935, the second of five children born to Julius and Clevia (Hartman) Isaacson. Sandra grew up in Yorktown and attended and graduated from Clarinda High School being active in church, service, and social groups along with being a cheerleader. Upon graduation she began working for a law firm. Unbeknownst to Sandra, a handsome young man and military veteran timed a visit to his father’s car care business around lunchtime each day when he knew a pretty young woman named Sandra would be walking by. He would later ask her out and after she set a clear expectation of rules regarding alcohol consumption and lack thereof, they dated and on March 18, 1956, were married at the United Methodist Church in Yorktown, Iowa.

Don’s work took them to Oklahoma for eleven years where all four children Mark, Scott, and twins Julie and Terri were born. From there his work took them to Manhattan, Kansas in 1967 on a sweltering August day, and Sandra was not certain it was the exact climate for their best life. Fifty-six years later, she would tell you that Manhattan, Kansas is the best, and the place God most wanted them to be.

Don and Sandra immediately joined First United Methodist Church in Manhattan and over the years Sandra served and led administrative committees, Sunday School classes and Bible studies, as Lay Leader and certified Lay Speaker, and on the Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits where she advocated for Pastors to have adequate health and long-term care benefits. She was awarded the Harry Denman Evangelism award for the Annual Conference, given to lay persons for invitation, hospitality, and care for community members who later joined the church.

After serving a number of years in an administrative position with a financial firm, Sandra started her own business, Professional Planning Service which she would own and lead for 20 years. Sandra would tell anyone that the foundation for her success was working with the utmost integrity and honesty, and building relationships with the clients she served - those with expansive portfolios no differently than those with minimal resources, “They all deserved my best. My business was built on New Testament vs Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’” Sandra also credited husband Don and her children for their willingness to step up at home when she was working long hours and couldn’t see to all the details of the household.

Sandra was a member of the following organizations: Business and Professional Women, Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Rotary Club, charter member KSU McCain Auditorium Board, President’s Advisory Council of Insurance Company. Along with being a charter member of the McCain Auditorium Board, Sandra was a member of the KSU President’s Club, the KSU Foundation Board of Trustees, and the KSU Cancer Research Board.

Out of all Sandra’s professional and personal accomplishments, and the list is extensive, Sandra took most joy and pride in her love and friendship with husband Don, and their four children. She marveled at their high character, accomplishments, and their own families. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much delight and life, and she simply sparkled when talking about their independence and strength. She also loved her siblings and with sisters Julane and Susan, in 1991 started the annual event “Gals Weekend” for all the women in the family to travel together, share fun and laughter and food, and simply grow closer in relationship and care across the generations.

Sandra was very much at peace with the journey in front of her. The living and sustaining faith she developed along with the strength of her family and community gave her the gift of moving into eternity without fear.

Sandra was preceded in death by Parents Julius and Clevia (Hartman) Isaacson, brothers, Darrell “D.D.” (Ethel) Isaacson; and Gary (Hazel) Isaacson. Survivors include husband Don of Manhattan, Kansas; son Mark Emley (Rebecca), Overland Park, KS; son Scott Emley (DeeAnn), Manhattan, KS; daughters Julie Swank and Terri Emley (Nanette) of Olathe, KS. Grandchildren Michael Emley, Overland Park; Anna (Stuart) Petty, Brookside, MO; Kailen (Derrick) Jacobsen; Manhattan, KS; Ryan Emley (Amber) Manhattan, KS; Rebeccah Swank, Merriam, KS; Rachel Swank, Denver, CO.; and Matthew Shrader, Salina, KS.; and five beloved great-grandchildren; Sisters, Julane Borth (Bill) Oklahoma City, OK; and Susan Jungman, Council Bluffs, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, October 20th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.

Sandra Lee Emley

Betty Ann Hamilton, age 76, of Westmoreland died October 11, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan.

Betty was born on August 19, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Daphne (Pepper) Hudson.

Betty spent her childhood in Michigan and lived in Westmoreland for over 40 years. She married Edward Hamilton on February 2, 1972, in Norway, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2017.&nbsp;

Betty worked as a department manager for K-Mart for 17 years and also poured molds in a ceramics shop in Wamego, Kansas.

&nbsp;She had a passion for animals of all kinds, Betty was known for always lending a helping hand to animals in need. She was often found nursing sick or wounded animals back to health. This passion led her to pursue her dream of working with nature when she graduated at the age of 62 from Highland Community College with an associate degree in animal science. Betty was determined, caring, and thoughtful, but most of all she was passionate about her family.&nbsp;

Betty is survived by her sons, Don Ross, Ron Ross, and David Ross, grandchildren, Chelsea, Caleb, Kristi, Lance, Haley, Mason, Josephine, William, Courtney, Samantha, and Stephanie; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Hamilton, son; James Ross, and her daughter; Tamara Ross.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego.  </figure>Betty Ann Hamilton, age 76, of Westmoreland died October 11, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan.Betty was born on August 19, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Richard and Daphne (Pepper) Hudson.Betty spent her childhood in Michigan and lived in Westmoreland for over 40 years. She married Edward Hamilton on February 2, 1972, in Norway, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2017.&nbsp;Betty worked as a department manager for K-Mart for 17 years and also poured molds in a ceramics shop in Wamego, Kansas.&nbsp;She had a passion for animals of all kinds, Betty was known for always lending a helping hand to animals in need. She was often found nursing sick or wounded animals back to health. This passion led her to pursue her dream of working with nature when she graduated at the age of 62 from Highland Community College with an associate degree in animal science. Betty was determined, caring, and thoughtful, but most of all she was passionate about her family.&nbsp;Betty is survived by her sons, Don Ross, Ron Ross, and David Ross, grandchildren, Chelsea, Caleb, Kristi, Lance, Haley, Mason, Josephine, William, Courtney, Samantha, and Stephanie; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her husband; Edward Hamilton, son; James Ross, and her daughter; Tamara Ross.&nbsp;Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Early in life, he served in the United States Army. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Junction City where he served as a deacon and volunteered with visitation to the sick and homebound often bringing them goodie bags. Peter was very civic minded and helped in many capacities including volunteer time with the C.L. Hoover Opera House, Geary County Historical Society and helping with the Thanksgiving meal at First Presbyterian Church. Standing six feet seven inches tall, he was hard to miss. He was a gentle giant and a relentless teaser. Peter was a wonderful cook and had a love for classical music. Peter married Wanda Tramer July 4, 1994 in Incline Village, Nevada. Survivors include one son, Mark Young and his wife Leona of Olathe, Kansas; one granddaughter, Aspen; two step-sons, Eric and Bart Tramer; many nieces and nephews in California.Peter was well loved and is now reunited with his parents, wife and siblings with our Savior in heaven.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp;Jean (Lynette) Ecklund of Herington, Kansas, joined her husband, parents, and siblings beside her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in Council Grove, Kansas. Jean was born in Herington, Kansas, on May 26, 1939, to Harold and Helen (Whipple) Anderson of Hope, Kansas. Jean met her best friend and husband of 60 years in Herington, Kansas, during a church youth group roller skating party. Jean prided herself in being a wonderful mother, grandmother, farm wife, church community member, and nurse’s assistant at the Herington Municipal Hospital.Jean will always be remembered for her strong faith and continuous dedication to her church community serving as a Sunday School Teacher and women’s group member. Her love for her faith and family started from a young age when she helped her father clear the land and helped build the King Solomon Christian Camp outside of Solomon, Kansas, which is still active and teaching children about Jesus to this day. Jean was a tough and strong, yet tender and understanding woman who cared for everyone she knew.

Lonnie Joe Creach, 60, of Abilene, Kansas, passed away on October 10, 2023, with all his family by his side.

 Lonnie will be remembered as a devoted father, husband, grandfather, and friend.Lonnie was born on April 24, 1963, to parents James and Rosetta Creach in Abilene, Kansas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1981.A dedicated employee, Lonnie was employed by Solomon Corporation for a total of 37 years. Lonnie was strong willed and at times stubborn, but also had an enormous heart and was ornery to the core. His humor and direct approach to life will be missed by all that knew him. Community was very important to Lonnie. His favorite contribution was his involvement year after year with Toys for Tots. Lonnie was always happy to contribute to a local cause, eager to lend a hand in any way he could.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his father, James Creach, maternal grandparents, Joe and Etta Mae Garten and paternal grandparents Harry and Myrtle Creach. He is survived by his wife of 25 years Linda Creach of Abilene, mother, Rosetta Creach of Abilene. Children include his son Ely Creach (Katie) of Kansas City, KS, stepchildren Elisha Hasselman (Mike), Dallas Riffel and Kesa Riffel all of Abilene. Siblings Sylvan (Marilyn) Creach of Aurora CO, James Creach and Joetta (Gabe) Rosalez of Abilene along with 17 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Lonnie Joe Creach

Robert K. Ott, 50, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away October 11, 2023.

He was born January 5, 1973 in St. Joseph, Michigan to William and Judith Ott. Rob graduated from Coloma High School with the class of 1991. He attended Michigan Technological University on an ROTC scholarship and majored in Civil Engineering. He then served in the United States Army, as an officer, from 1996 to 2000. He served in the 70th Engineer Battalion, stationed at Ft. Riley in Kansas.

Rob married Kim (Gaulding) Ott, long-time Manhattan High School teacher, in 1999. They were a couple for 26 years. 24 of those were spent as a married couple. Their son, Landon, was born in 2005 and Rob’s life was spent sharing life lessons and enjoying activities his son chose to participate in. On the top of that activity list was time spent every summer at the baseball diamond. Whether it was the little league or 18 u travel ball, Rob was there cheering and taking pictures/video. The spirit he carried to each of Landon’s games will resonate in both family and friends well into the future at the college games Landon will play.

In addition to being his son’s biggest baseball fan, Rob loved watching sporting events. Cheering on the Red Wings hockey team ranked right up at the top of his favorite choices in his free time. He also became a fan of local sporting teams ranging from teams at Manhattan High School, KSU, and the regional favorites: KC Royals and KC Chiefs.

Rob’s life as a professional civil engineer spanned over two decades. From 2000 to the summer of 2005, Rob worked as the State Corridor Engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation. In early fall of 2005, he took the position of City Engineer for the City of Manhattan. He then was promoted to Public Works Director for the City of Manhattan in 2014. He held that position until he passed. He was a member of the American Public Works Association and served as the President of the Kansas Chapter.

Rob’s many career accomplishments include redevelopment projects, utility relocations, expansions of major roadways, collaborations with both state and federal government agencies on projects such as the National Bio- and Agro-Defense Facility, and the Manhattan levee system. He also used his leadership skills to secure millions of dollars in state and federal funding.

In early 2023, a joint maintenance facility, a project he worked for years to bring to reality for members of the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments, was opened for use. He was shocked, honored, and most certainly surprised that the City of Manhattan state dedicated the facility in his honor. They chose to name it the Rober K. Ott Municipal Services Facility.

Rob’s love of work did not just center around engineering only. He loved working with his hands and was proficient at so many practical skills. These he learned from his family back home in Michigan and brought them to Kansas. He was the general contractor on both his rental property and his family’s current home. His skills ranged from electrical, landscape, framing and foundations to paint and trim work. If you looked in the dictionary under the word “handyman,” Rob’s picture could be found.

Rob was preceded in death by his fraternal and maternal grandparents, a sister, Karrie Ott, and his niece, Emma Martindale.

He is survived by his wife Kim, son Landon, parents William and Judith Ott, brother Ryan (Sigrid) Ott, sister Jolyn (Mitch) Martindale, nephews Louis Martindale and Brady Ott, as well as niece Paige Martindale.

Cremation will take place prior to the visitation, which will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m .at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held the next day, Saturday, November 4, from 1:00 to 3:30 p.m. at the Robert K. Ott Municipal Services Facility, 1000 Levee Drive, Manhattan, Kansas.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Sunrise Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas.

Robert K. Ott

Ronald Lee Randall, Jr. age 53, of Manhattan, died October 9, 2023, at his residence.

He was born March 25, 1970, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Ronald Lee. Sr., and Sandra Louise (McCoy) Randall. He was baptized at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego.

Ron graduated from Manhattan High School, and attended Kansas State University and Manhattan Technical College in Marketing.

He was the Branch Manager for OneMain Financial in Manhattan.

Ron was an Eagle Scout, loved his family, enjoyed going to the movies, streamed and binged watched movies and shows and loved all animals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his pet dog Ellie that was a long-time companion and friend.

Survivors include his aunts and uncles: Bertha Jackson, Dan McCoy, Jim McCoy, George Randall, Betty Moon, Patty Ruiz, Roger Randall and Pamela Fletcher; and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Wamego.

 </figure>Ronald Lee Randall, Jr. age 53, of Manhattan, died October 9, 2023, at his residence.He was born March 25, 1970, in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Ronald Lee. Sr., and Sandra Louise (McCoy) Randall. He was baptized at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wamego.Ron graduated from Manhattan High School, and attended Kansas State University and Manhattan Technical College in Marketing.He was the Branch Manager for OneMain Financial in Manhattan.Ron was an Eagle Scout, loved his family, enjoyed going to the movies, streamed and binged watched movies and shows and loved all animals.He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his pet dog Ellie that was a long-time companion and friend.Survivors include his aunts and uncles: Bertha Jackson, Dan McCoy, Jim McCoy, George Randall, Betty Moon, Patty Ruiz, Roger Randall and Pamela Fletcher; and many cousins.Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Ronald Lee Randall, Jr.

Tammy G. Nivert, age 63, of Manhattan, KS, died October 9, 2023 at her residence after an 18-year battle with cancer.

She was born in Tulsa, OK on August 31st, 1960 to Lloyd Robert “Bud” and Ruby Laverne (Hughes) Rada.

Tammy attended MATC, where she acquired an associate degree in accounting. She went on to work for Drs. Janasek &amp; Oberhelman, Konza Community Health Clinic, Sykes and Mercy Regional Health Center.

She enjoyed reading, crafting, painting, and gardening. She was also an avid player of Final Fantasy, “Aemeny”, and World of Warcraft, “Grand Marshall Leylari”.

She is survived by her three sons: Daniel Arnwine, Robert Nivert and Christopher Nivert, all of Manhattan; three siblings: Dennis Rada, Sandra “Sandy” (Wald) and her twin Rick Rada; and four grandchildren: Alexander, Alexia, and Korbyn Arnwine, and Leigha Gallagher.

Cremation is planned with private family services.

Steven Jon Bowman of Riley, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 58 on October 6, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan, Kansas. Tragically, this was the day before his favorite event, the annual family reunion and homebrew contest known as The Bowman Brewfest.

Steve was born in Belleville, Kansas, on September 29, 1965 to Loren and Wanda (Hicks) Bowman. He was the youngest of five children, Steve often said it took 15 years and 5 kids to get the perfect child. Steve graduated from Hillcrest High School in Cuba, KS, in 1984, then attended Kansas State University, and served in the Army and Kansas National Guard.

In the Fall of 1993 he met Nicole (Nikki) Kirkman as they started nursing school. As anyone who knew him can imagine, she immediately noticed his dry wit and they were wed on May 29, 1995 in Clyde, KS. Steve graduated from Cloud County Community College as a Registered Nurse in May 1996.

Steve and Nikki started their family in Port Angeles, WA, in 1997 with the arrivals of Spencer, Sophie and Natalie. Thankfully the children all inherited Steve's sense of humor and gift for drawing.

Upon returning to Kansas in 2006 to be closer to the Bowman clan, Steve worked at Manhattan Surgical Hospital, as well as Ascension Via Christi Hospital and Leonardville Nursing Home.

Steve is survived by his wife Nikki at their farm in Riley, son Spencer of Riley, daughter Sophia and son-in-law Matthew Stites of Rochester, MN, and daughter Natalie of Riley. He is also survived by brother Marc and Paulette Bowman, brother Doug and Liz Bowman, sister Peg and Dan Feldt, sister-in-law Mary Bowman, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and lifelong friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Bowman.

Steve's wishes as an organ donor were honored. After cremation he'll be laid to rest with his family at Hollis Cemetery, Hollis. A Celebration of Life is being planned to toast Steve with his last homebrewed Brewfest beer and tell his favorite stories.

Sharon M. Fletcher, 78, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at her home in Junction City. Cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery with Pastor Will Ravenstein officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the Wounded Warriors Project or to the Disabled American Veterans' Group in Junction City, Kansas.

Sharon was born June 16, 1945 in Fullerton, Nebraska the daughter of William and Mary Florence (Renshaw) Marshall.Sharon graduated from Fullerton High School with the class of 1963 in Fullerton, Nebraska. She graduated from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska. Sharon started working at the Geary County Courthouse in 1977. She worked her way up to become the Clerk for the Geary County District Court. She retired from that position in 2004. She was a member of the Eagle's Lodge, American Legion and the Elk's Lodge all of Junction City, Kansas. She married the love of her life Rex Wayne Fletcher on September 14, 1968 in Grand Island, Nebraska. He passed away March 22, 2008.

Survivors include one daughter, Karla K. Fletcher of Junction City, Kansas; three step-sons, Kelly E. Fletcher, Kevin R. Fletcher and Kirk A. Fletcher; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and a host of life long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rex and two brothers, James and Teddy.

Lyman was born December 16, 1954, in Junction City, Kansas the son of Lyman D. and Lillian L. (Oesterhaus) Hill, Sr.Lyman attended schools in Junction City. He mowed yards for neighbors and friends. He has lived in Village Manor since November 2015. He will be missed by his brother and sister.Lyman is survived by his brother Herman Hill of Corvallis, Montana and his sister Louise Edmonson of Junction City, Kansas; nephews and nieces.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister-in-law, Sara Hill.
