Lorrie LoAnn Holloway, 66, of Wamego, Kansas. died Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Wamego, Kansas Hospital.

Born on March 31, 1956 at a hospital in Salina, Kansas, Lorrie grew up in Minneapolis, Kansas, the only child of her loving parents, Clifford and Loretta (Schur) Kibler. She graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1974.

After completing the courses for Office Education from the Manhattan Vo-Tech College in 1975, she joined the K-State family as a clerk for K-State Research and Extension in June of 1975.&nbsp; Four years later she married her husband, Morris “Tip” Holloway, Jr., on April 21, 1979.

Lorrie and Tip’s family grew with the birth of their two sons -- Jeremy in 1980 and Kasey in 1982.&nbsp; During the boys’ younger days, Tip’s sister Wanda lived with them and cared for the boys while Lorrie and Tip were at work. As a result, the boys and Lorrie were all very close with Wanda and she was a stable influence in their lives as well.

In 1979, Lorrie joined K-State’s Department of Aerospace Studies as the Senior Administrative Assistant.&nbsp; She was featured in a 2007 article in the K-Statement. The article stated she was “Dedicated to the students” and “enjoys working in a ”family-oriented department”. She was called “Mrs. H” by the hundreds of students commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the United States Air Force and the many officers and staff members who passed through the department. Col. Randy O’Boyle, K-State professor of Aerospace Studies at the time, referred to her “as a legendary force in Air Force ROTC at K-State” The article went on to say that during the 31 years she worked at K-State, she had “worked with 9 different department heads, and 27 assistant professors”.&nbsp;&nbsp; She continued working at the Department of Aerospace Studies until her retirement.&nbsp;

Mrs. H used her sense of humor to develop a rapport with many of her students, but she would become “the Dragonlady” on days when official decorum was of utmost necessity, and someone forgot to remove their flight cap before entering “her building”.&nbsp; Many of her former students would return to see her or kept in touch via Facebook.

In 1985, her younger cousin Val, came to K-State as a freshman and Lorrie took her under her wing -- playing chauffeur, friend, and confidant as well as a role model when Val was offered the student position of Supply Custodian for AFROTC.&nbsp; The two spent the next 4 years fitting future USAF officers with uniforms and passing IG inspections with Mrs. H’s usual perfect ratings. Val returned to Manhattan to work full-time at K-State in 1992 and Lorrie, Tip and their boys “adopted her” as did the grandkids, nieces and nephews as they met Val (although the younguns were, and still are, never quite sure how to explain the relationship because she was “just Val”).

While watching those “kids” grow into USAF officers, her family grew by 2 granddaughters - MaKayla in 2003 and Alexis in 2005.&nbsp;

Lorrie was “Aunt Lorrie” to a huge group of nieces and nephews from Tip’s side of the family and the Holloway home was “the place to be” in the summer.&nbsp; Even though one of her favorite phrases was “you know, I hate kids don’t you?”, they all knew that was really her way of telling them that they were loved, welcomed, and accepted at the home she and Tip shared in Wamego.&nbsp; This love and acceptance resulted in that generation being a close-knit group even with a 20+ year difference amongst them.

After her mother’s death in 2007, Lorrie was determined to retire while still in good health so she would be able to enjoy time with her grandchildren. She retired from K-State in 2008 and her grandson Kingstyn subsequently joined the family in 2009. &nbsp;The three grandkids were her pride and joy.&nbsp; Before COVID, they kept her busy with soccer, gymnastics, softball, and other school events as well as weekend trips to Manhattan to be spoiled, go shopping for groceries and lunch out somewhere.&nbsp; In her spare time, she was an avid reader, quilter, knitter, crocheter, embroiderer and played computer games or watched her favorite TV show, “Iron Chef” as well as spending time with her cats.

After the sudden death of Tip in 2017, Lorrie returned to work, initially as a part-time cashier at Dollar General in Wamego and then at Wal-Mart, continuing to use her good humor and wit to keep the customers coming back.&nbsp; Once it was determined that she would need to begin dialysis and started the process to be placed on the Kidney transplant list, Lorrie retired a second time in 2018.&nbsp; &nbsp;It was during her intake appointment for placement on the transplant list that Lorrie chose to be an organ and tissue donor through the Midwest Transplant Network.

Lorrie is survived by her sons, grandchildren and the many people whose lives she has touched but especially these groups of people:

Don Richard Jolly, 68, of Glendale, Arizona, and formerly of Wamego, Kansas, passed away on May 1, 2022 from cardiac arrest.

Don was born in Wamego, Kansas on October 27, 1953 to Harold and Carolyn Jolly.&nbsp; Harold passed away on March 5, 1963 from a malignant brain tumor, and later Carolyn married Darrell Larson.&nbsp;

Don was a 1971 graduate of Wamego High School and a graduate from Manhattan Area Vocational Technical School in the Printing Trades profession.&nbsp; He worked for many printing companies in the state of Kansas and Arizona.&nbsp;

In high school, he met his wife, Theresa Zoeller and was married on October 4, 1974.&nbsp; In 1990, they relocated to Glendale, Arizona.&nbsp;

Don had a passion for motorcycles.&nbsp; He owned 10 of them in his lifetime.&nbsp; He and his wife enjoyed motorcycle riding, traveling throughout the Southwest and Midwest of the U.S. &nbsp;&nbsp;He loved to tinker with them, keeping them clean, shiny, and polished.

He also liked to engage in a lively discussion, debate, or conversation about politics.&nbsp; He spent many hours watching political TV programs. Don was an avid reader as he was interested in books and magazines, especially about History. He could come up with facts in an instant.&nbsp; Don enjoyed watching movies at home with a giant bowl of popcorn in front of him. &nbsp;He was a fan of the KC Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and K-State football. Don loved coming back to Wamego over the 4th&nbsp;of July to watch the parade and fireworks.&nbsp;

Don had a wonderful sense of humor that at times had you rolling out of your chair laughing so hard that tears came streaming down your face. He was able to make people laugh exactly when it was needed. He will be sadly missed, never forgotten by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa of the home; sister, Linda Jolly of Wamego, KS;&nbsp; step-father, Darrell Larson of Wamego, KS;&nbsp; sisters-in law, Donna Burnette, Rodanthe, NC; Diane Zoeller, and Nancy Scheopner of Wamego, KS;&nbsp; brother-in-law, Patrick Munson, Rodanthe, NC; God-daughter/niece, Kali Grenfell, Livonia MI; nephew, Blake Burnette, Paw Paw, MI.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was united in marriage to William Prentiss in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1958. She later married Sam Welborn in 1960. He preceded her in death in 1982. She was a talented painter and wood carver and also repaired and built brass musical instruments. She worked as a clerk and tourist guide for Old Abilene Town and The Visitors Center. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Effie Kolling, two brothers - Robert Kolling and Hank Kolling, a daughter - Dena Prentiss, two step-daughters - Charlotte Armitage and Pamela Reynolds, and a stepson - Ed Prentiss. Irene Sterner, 96 of rural Enterprise passed away May 6, 2022 at Village Manor Nursing Home in Abilene. She was born November 24, 1926 on a family farm west of Holland, the daughter of Charley E. and Nora (Broughton) Howie. She attended local schools and graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1944. 

On August 4, 1957 she was united in marriage to Dale W. Sterner. They farmed in the Navarre community all their married life. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 35 years prior to retiring and also helped her husband with their farming operation. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneer of America. Jean Pierce McKenzie, age 95, formerly of Abilene and Topeka, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home in Fort Myers, Florida on May 4, 2022. Jean was born on July 23, 1926, in Abilene, Kansas to James and Alice (Sims) Greenough. She grew up in Solomon, Kansas, a community where lasting friendships remained. In 1949, she graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Institutional Management. In 1950, she married her college beau, Robert L. Pierce. They resided in Abilene, Kansas for 28 years. Bob was affiliated with the Duckwall-Alco Company and Jean was a homemaker with three children, and an active community volunteer. She helped organize the Abilene-Salina Tri-Delta alumni group, served as President of AAUW, and had a lifelong association with PEO; all organizations providing education and uplift to women worldwide. On the Dickinson County Agricultural Board, she enjoyed teaching nutritional classes and served many roles at the First United Methodist Church. Her love for the great outdoors made her a natural Girl Scout from childhood through adulthood, culminating as both a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. Jean enjoyed an active life of camping, golfing, cycling and exercise. She maintained that love of the outdoors and exercise to her final days. Always an ardent KSU alum, Jean attended most football games and was active with the Kansas State Alumni Association and Foundation. After her husband Bob passed in 1977, Jean moved to Topeka, Kansas and worked in Nutritional Services for the Kansas State Department of Education. She enjoyed 10 years of work and travel with colleagues who became lifelong friends. She often said, “I love everything there is to know about food!” Upon retirement, Jean enjoyed travel, family and friends. She re-connected with a hometown friend, Nolan McKenzie, both being Solomon and Kansas State University graduates. They married in 1993, attended the Topeka Presbyterian Church, traveled extensively, enjoyed music venues and continued attending their alma mater’s football games. Upon Nolan’s passing in 2017, Jean moved to Florida to be near her daughter….and sunshine! And she continued to be a KSU football and basketball fan, watching televised games at every opportunity. Jean was preceded in death by both husbands, her brother Donald Greenough, sister Phyllis Brownlee, and son William Pierce. Jean is survived by her daughter Nancy Pierce (Richard Famiglietti) of Sanibel Island, Florida; son Robert Pierce of Wichita, Kansas; grandson Eric of Wichita, Kansas, and two great grandchildren, Jude and Jameson. In addition, Jean is survived by stepdaughter Phyllis McKenzie (Peter Maher) of San Antonio, Texas; stepson Scott McKenzie (Suzie) of Topeka, Kansas; eight step-grandchildren, three step-greatgrandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. &nbsp;Cassandra Anne "Sandy" Erdmann-Rothlisberg, 76, of Grandview Plaza, KS, died Monday, April 4, 2022 at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the JC Naz Church, 1025 S. Washington Street, Junction City, KS. A dinner will follow at the American Legion. Sandy was born on May 12, 1945 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Roy G. Raess and Violet A. Raess (Nagreen). She graduated from Appleton- West High School in 1964. Soon after graduation Sandy met James "Jim" Lee Erdmann on a blind date set up by mutual friends. Jim married Sandy on June 18, 1966 while attending UW- Madison as an undergraduate student. The couple moved into Married Student Housing located on the UW- Madison Campus after taking a short honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin at the family cottage and Mackinac Island. Sandy didn't waste any time upon returning to Madison and immediately began looking for a job and was thrilled when asked if she had time for an interview. At the completion of that interview, Sandy was hired "on the spot" and actually started working the very next day for the State of Wisconsin in the Department of Systems Administration. Sandy continued working for the State of Wisconsin while her husband pursued a Master's Degree with the intent of starting a family soon. Days, months and years passed by and adoption became the couple's decision after pregnancy just wasn't possible. On May 23, 1975 Sandy and Jim finally became proud parents of a healthy baby boy they named Patrick James Erdmann by way of legal adoption/ Adjusting well to their new lives as parents, Sandy and Jim moved to Beaver Dam that was located within Dodge County, Wisconsin later that year. Jim began a new position as the Executive Director of the Dodge County Planning Department and Sandy continued to maintain her employment with the State of Wisconsin, now working directly with the Presidents of the entire University of Wisconsin Systems. Sandy was the "go-to" woman for when her co-workers and colleagues had issues or problems needing resolution. She was most famous for organizing and planning the Saturday morning brunches that were held at the Britingham House for every Badger Football home game having more than 300 guests in attendance. The announcement that Sandy was pregnant surprised both family and friends and on April 7, 1976 Sandy gave birth to a baby girl the couple named Jennifer Anne Erdmann. And although both had to commute, Sandy and Jim enjoyed Beaver Dam so much that they stayed and raised their children for the next 20 years. During these 20 years, nearly every weekend and holiday was spent enjoying the great outdoors at the family cottage located on Big Lake in Vilas County. Sandy especially enjoyed gathering with other immediate family members creating lifelong memories with her children and their cousins. Sandy was very involved in her children's lives and even became the Board of Directors President for the daycare center, Community Care For Kids, that Patrick and Jenny attended. She continued as the Community Care For Kids Board President for many years even after Patrick and Jenny no longer needed after school childcare. Sandy encouraged and supported her children's activities including their desires to participate in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, orchestra, band and several different sports. There were very few concerts and games Sandy did not attend throughout all their school years. Another special event Sandy never missed was the first weekend in August where she took center stage in the annual parade honoring her grandfather, Hamburger Charlie (Charles Nagreen invented the hamburger in 1885), as part of the Hamburger Festival celebration in Seymour, WI. During the Thanksgiving holiday of 1995, Sandy's husband shared the devastating news that he had terminal cancer. One month after Sandy and Jim celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, Sandy's husband passed away on July 18, 1996. Several years later, Sandy sold the family's home in Beaver Dam and moved to Madison, WI to eliminate the long commute to work. Sandy also held a part-time position and worked evening and weekend shifts in the Jewelry Department at Kohl’s . While attending her 40th high school class reunion Sandy had the pleasure of meeting Allan Rothlisberg. Allan and Sandy fell in love. Allan soon proposed and married Sandy on July 30, 2004. Sandy instantly became Mom to Allan's three grown children: Amy, David and Michelle as well as a Grandmother to Kayla and Sabrena. That same week, Sandy, being one of the most hard working and dedicated employees the State of Wisconsin ever had the joy to employ, finally retired after 38 years. She moved to Grandview Plaza, Kansas where Allan had been recently living after retiring from the Army. Sandy and Allan built a new home for themselves large enough to host their children and grandchildren comfortably during visits. Sandy and Allan were blessed with two additional grandchildren when Sandy's daughter Jenny gave birth to Lucas in 2014 and Violet in 2017. Sandy was now known as Nana and Allan was now Opa. Both Sandy and Allan actively participated in several community organizations and clubs including the Geary County Senior Center, the Lions Club of Milford, KS as well as the American Legion Post 45. Sandy delivered "Meals on Wheels" to seniors living in the community for many years. She also helped campaign for her husband, Allan, while running for Kansas State House of Representatives and continued to support her husband after he was elected. Sandy enjoyed listening to the JC band concerts, watching plays at the Opera House, playing bingo and cards at the Sr. Center and also testing her luck playing her favorite slot machines at the Prairie Band Casino. Sandy had recently become a surviving widow again when just this last year she lost her second husband, Allan, on May 4, 2021 just a few months shy of their 17th anniversary. Sandy had a smile that was contagious! Always actively involved and participating within the communities she lived, she always found time to watch and spoil her grandkids. Sandy had platinum hair and a heart of gold. She will be missed by the many lives and hearts she touched but especially missed by her loving family. Survivors include: her son Patrick J. &nbsp;Christopher Antijuan "Tiny" Purdie, 33, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at his home. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022 at New Church of the Living God with Pastor James E. Johnson officiating. Christopher was born February 12, 1989, in Birmingham, AL the son of Christina Purdie. Christopher graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 2007. Chris worked at Smithfield in Junction City, KS for nearly ten years. Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed cooking and playing video games. Chris enjoyed watching all sports. His favorite team was the University of Alabama. He was known as a gentle giant teddy bear. Chris lived for the moment and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a protector and care giver and would do anything he could. He would give his last to help anyone. He took great pride in taking care of his mother Christina who passed away March 21, 2022. Survivors include his brother, Eric B. Nabors, Jr. of Killeen, TX; one sister, Nikita N. A graveside service at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, Manhattan, KS, will take place at a later date. She was born on February 11, 1958, San Diego, CA to Stanley and Helen (Comeaux) Stoleson. Saralyn was devoted member of The Church of the Nazarene. She loved the outdoors, cooking for loved ones, and being apart of peoples lives. Saralyn was devoted member of The Church of the Nazarene. She loved the outdoors, cooking for loved ones, and being apart of peoples lives. A graveside service with military honors will take place 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery. Herbert was born November 29, 1933, in Pawtucket, R.I. the son of Herbert Darling and Evelyn Claire (LaFrance) Harris. Herbert enlisted in the United States Army on February 25, 1953. While on active duty, he graduated with honors from the St. Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. On July 31, 1976, he retired from the United States Army, a Lieutenant Colonel, in Field Artillery. Following his military service he moved with his family to Geary County where he remained the rest of his life. In late 1977, he joined the staff at Central National Bank and was employed there until 1993. He married Marie Linnea Swenson, on November 4, 1955, at Camp Funston, Fort Riley, KS. Norma Jeane Crain, 94, of Wamego, Kansas, formally of Manhattan, KS passed away on Sunday (May 1, 2022) at Good Samaritan Society-Valley Vista in Wamego.

Born January 25, 1928 in Harrisonville, Missouri, Jeane was the daughter of Charlie Booker and Josie Agnes (Cantrell) Luther. She married Wilse Earl Crain on August 17, 1944 in Harrisonville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October, 26 1995.

Jeane was a longtime and active member of College Heights Baptist Church in Manhattan. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. &nbsp;She was an avid reader and loved arts and crafts, sewing, quilting and crocheting. She loved helping others and was “Mom” to many of the neighborhood children. Many family and friends will fondly remember her as “Munner”, the name given to her over 50 years ago.

Jeane sold Avon and provided childcare in her home for many years but her greatest treasure was her family and all the times they spent together.

Survivors include four daughters, Barbara Kesner of Overland Park, KS, Terri Bruyere of Wamego, KS, Sharon Daniels of Wamego, KS and Lynn Crain (Richard Grime) of Westmoreland, KS; eleven grandchildren, Brandy Goheen, Angie Curtis (Jon), Matt Booth (Jen), Frank Daniels (Randi), Wilse Daniels (Bambi), Mason Kesner, Roger Crain (Denise), Michelle Williams (Darian), Josie Truitt (Michael), Lena Feldkamp (Brad), Charlie Crain, twenty eight loving great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Crain was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilse; a son, Wilse “Butch” Crain; a daughter, Carolyn Bradshaw; a grandson, Alex Goheen; and a brother, Charles Luther.

A service to celebrate the life of Norma will be held Thursday (May 12, 2022) at 2:00 p.m. at the Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home in Wamego with Pastor Tim Gotchey officiating.&nbsp; The family will meet with friends on Thursday (May 12, 2022) from 1:00 until the time of services at the funeral home.

&nbsp;Gerald “Jerry” Dale Lindeman, age 88, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Tuesday May 3, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. He was born on February 24, 1934 in Satanta, Kansas, the son of Walter and Helen (Jacobs) Lindeman. Jerry attended schools in Sublette and graduated from Sublette High School with the class of 1952. He then attended Kansas State University and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business. After college Jerry entered the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict from 1956-1958. He returned home after the army to work on the family farm. He went to work for Farm Bureau and worked for many years as an insurance adjuster and agent. Jerry worked in Great Bend, Garden City, Sublette and Cimarron. He was in Cimarron when he retired in 1996 and then later moved to Manhattan. On December 11, 1960 in Great Bend, Kansas, Jerry was united in marriage to Carma Goodwin. She survives at their home in Manhattan. Farming and life on the family farm was an important part of Jerry’s life. A day at the farm with his family and doing the farm chores was the best day anyone could have according to Jerry. In addition to his wife Carma, Jerry is survived by his children: Lori Rene` Lindeman, Brad Lee Lindeman, Traci Jo Woods (L.T.), and Todd Eric Lindeman; also, his grandson, Travis Dale Lindeman (Katy), and his great-grandson, Thomas David Lindeman. &nbsp;Kyler Bruce Alderson, 25, of Evans, Colorado, and formerly of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 25, in Idaho from injuries sustained from a work-related accident.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler was born on November 3rd, 1996, to Corey and Jane Alderson. He was the younger brother to Rikki (Alderson) Seeberger and a proud big brother to Ryann Alderson. Kyler spent his early childhood in Holton, KS until 2002 when he moved to his hometown of Wamego, KS. His childhood revolved around little league football, baseball, and basketball, all of which provided him with lifelong friends, family, and mentors.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler graduated from Wamego High School in 2015 and was heavily involved in high school athletics including football, basketball, and baseball. He proudly held the role of QB1 for the&nbsp;

varsity football team and achieved honors including 2013 All-State Honorable Mention Quarterback, 2X All NCKL kicker, all-league quarterback, and 2014 All-Class 4A-II quarterback.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Following high school, he attended Hutchison Community College on a football scholarship in the fall of 2015 and later transferred to Highland Community College in the spring of 2016. Kyler attended Kansas State University for two semesters and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Kyler’s biggest academic accomplishment came in 2020 when he graduated from Manhattan Area Technical College from their Electric Power and Distribution program.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler always had a love for the mountains. He spent many spring breaks on family ski trips in Colorado and always said that he would live in Colorado someday.&nbsp; Upon graduation, Kyler accepted a job as an apprentice lineman with Altitude Energy and moved to Evans, CO just a couple weeks later, where he pursued a career as a lineman. Kyler had many co-workers who became dear friends. Kyler took pride in his career and the work he and his crew did. He never was the type of person who could work the typical 9-5 office job, so it was fitting when the opportunity came available for him to move to his favorite state and pursue a career that was physically challenging, allowing him to be outdoors and to travel the country.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler loved being outdoors. He grew up attending annual fishing and hunting trips with his Grandpa Arnie, dad, and uncle, as well as annual skiing trips with his Grandpa Bruce and family. Whether it be “Church ball” with his high school best friends, a good old-fashioned day party, attending a sporting event or enjoying some live music with friends, Kyler could always be found outside.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Kyler was the perfect combination of ornery and loving. His favorite way of showing his sisters that he loved them was by picking on them but would always end a call with a “love you.”&nbsp; He was weird and goofy with the most contagious smile and laugh. People gravitated toward Kyler because of his positive energy.&nbsp; Kyler was a hard worker and stubborn. If there was something he wanted to do, he was going to make sure that it happened. Kyler was a committed friend. Kyler was always the life of the party and made sure that everybody’s glass was always full and that their hands were never empty, even if that was at the expense of his bank account.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler was intentional and loved his family so much. Whether it was his weekly phone calls or texts with his parents, grandparents, and sisters, or a simple “good luck” text before a sporting event, he made sure people knew he was thinking of them.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Kyler is preceded in death by his two Grandfathers, Arnold (Arnie) Alderson and Bruce Cleveland. He is survived by both parents, Corey, and Jane Alderson, two siblings, Ryann Alderson, and Rikki Seeberger, one brother-in-law, Zach Seeberger, his beloved dog, Delilah, Grandmothers Dixie Alderson, and Gretchen Cleveland, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He grew up attending annual fishing and hunting trips with his Grandpa Arnie, dad, and uncle, as well as annual skiing trips with his Grandpa Bruce and family. Whether it be “Church ball” with his high school best friends, a good old-fashioned day party, attending a sporting event or enjoying some live music with friends, Kyler could always be found outside.&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyler was the perfect combination of ornery and loving. His favorite way of showing his sisters that he loved them was by picking on them but would always end a call with a “love you.”&nbsp; He was weird and goofy with the most contagious smile and laugh. People gravitated toward Kyler because of his positive energy.&nbsp; Kyler was a hard worker and stubborn. If there was something he wanted to do, he was going to make sure that it happened. Kyler was a committed friend. Kyler was always the life of the party and made sure that everybody’s glass was always full and that their hands were never empty, even if that was at the expense of his bank account.&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler was intentional and loved his family so much. Whether it was his weekly phone calls or texts with his parents, grandparents, and sisters, or a simple “good luck” text before a sporting event, he made sure people knew he was thinking of them.&nbsp;&nbsp;Kyler is preceded in death by his two Grandfathers, Arnold (Arnie) Alderson and Bruce Cleveland. He is survived by both parents, Corey, and Jane Alderson, two siblings, Ryann Alderson, and Rikki Seeberger, one brother-in-law, Zach Seeberger, his beloved dog, Delilah, Grandmothers Dixie Alderson, and Gretchen Cleveland, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.&nbsp; &nbsp;Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church of Wamego. William Douglas “Doug” Wenderott, 65, of Alma, Kansas, died unexpectedly, Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home. He was a life-long resident of the community.

Doug was born on May 10, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of William B. and Janet A. (Fulton) Wenderott. He attended local grade school and graduated from Alma High School in 1974. He then attended Pratt Community College studying agriculture.

Doug was a rancher his entire adult life, working the family ranch west of Alma. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and any activity that involved his children or grandchildren. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and was known to be able to fix most anything. He was skilled in metal work, welding, and woodworking. Doug was an avid Jayhawk fan and also enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals play.

Doug married Christine Berroth on August 10, 1985, in Alma. She survives at their home.

Doug is also survived by his mother; Janet Wenderott, Alma, his children; Adam Wenderott (Jennifer), Alma, Todd Wenderott, Alma, and Jill Wenderott (Bryan VanSaders), Willow Springs, Illinois; his grandchildren, Hannah (Mitch), Tate, and Hudson; his sisters; Karen Vickery (Tim), Dallas, Texas and Jane Stuart (James), Plano, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wenderott.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Peace United Church of Christ in Alma. Reverend Michael Vollbrecht will be officiating. Larry Eugene Rusink, 76, of Manhattan, and formerly of Omaha, NE, passed away late Friday, April 22, 2022, at the Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Larry was born in Norton, Kansas on October 19, 1945, the son of the late Harley and Wilma (Vermass) Rusink. He attended schools in Norton, Council Grove, and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1963. He received his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Kansas State University in 1968. He was married on April 20, 1968, to Shirley Ann Suther for 54 yrs. They were married in the Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Blaine, Kansas. He started his career at Farm Bureau as a computer programmer. He moved to Omaha, NE, and finished his career as an IT Project Manager for First Data Corporation. Larry and Shirley retired in Manhattan, Kansas in 2014. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Larry enjoyed attending Kansas State athletic events, gardening and being outdoors, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley of their home; son, Chad Michael Rusink, of Nottingham, MD; a daughter, Robin Renee (Ryan) Symes, of Overland Park, four grandchildren: McKenzie Rusink, Isabella Rusink, Bailey Symes, and Keagan Symes. Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father and, two infant brothers, Harley D. &amp; Harley E. Rusink. On Friday, April 29th at the Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the family will receive friends at 9:30 AM with a rosary being recited at 10:00 AM. Linda Lee McClung, 79, passed away on March 1, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society-Valley Vista in Wamego, Kansas. The daughter of Bob and Gladys Hooton, Linda was born on June 18, 1942, in Niles, Michigan. She spent her infant through early grade school years in the small resort village of Hudson Lake, Indiana. Her father’s work as a successful salesman for Jewel Tea Company brought the family to Illinois and finally to Missouri. Linda excelled in music and art. Following her high school graduation, Linda was hired by Hallmark Cards, Inc. She worked in the Hallmark Lithography Department in Kansas City, Missouri. It was during this time, she met her first husband, Delbert D. Taylor. They moved with their newborn son Scott to Manhattan, Kansas in 1965. Their second child Rashelle was born in 1968 in Manhattan. After a divorce, Linda met her second husband Jim McClung while square dancing. Jimmy passed away from cancer in 2005. Linda’s adult life was centered around art, writing, dancing, music, theater, travel, and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She participated in numerous social groups. She was a member of American Legion Post 17 Auxiliary and Dance Club 2000. At Riley County Senior Service Center, she helped with Meals on Wheels and led a memoir writing group for many years. She published her memoirs, From My Perspective and continued writing until her passing. She was an active member of Sedalia Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Gladys Hooton and her husband, Jim McClung. She is survived by her loving companion Donald L. Zehr, Sr.; her children, Scott Taylor (Lynn) of Grovetown, Georgia, and her daughter Rashelle Dillon (Joe) of Manhattan; her siblings, Russell Hooton (Sandra), William “Bill” Hooton (Shelley), Randall Hooton (Sharon) and sister Kathy Edwards. Her beloved grandchildren are Amanda Reader (Andrew) of Lafayette, Indiana, Danielle Dillon and Noah Dillon of Manhattan, and step-grandchildren, Jessica Porter (Kevin) and their children, Linda’s step-great-grandchildren: Clayton, Bradley, and Alexandria “Lexi”, and Brandon Pope (Marissa). She also leaves behind many dear friends who remember her for her laughter, steady hand, and joy of life. Wayne served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1963, and was honorable discharged as an E-4. He was a warehouse manager in Great Bend, KS for Harbison-Fischer, Inc. for 35 years. After retirement, he moved to Manhattan and worked for Job Corps. Wayne was a public-spirited man and a fervent patriot, donating his time and talents to numerous veteran’s organizations. He served as a state, post, and district Commander for the American Legion. Additionally, he was part of the 40 and 8 Grande De KS and Sons of the American Legion. Even with all his service for veteran’s organizations, he also found time to be the Quivira District Executive for the Boy Scouts and a member of the Barton County Sheriff’s Reserve. On March 25, 1962, Wilson, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Judith K. Nelson. Survivors include his wife Judy of the home; two sons: Shawn McReynolds and his fiancée Gaytha Ziegelmeier of Ada, OK and Shane McReynolds and his fiancée Ruth Adams of Manhattan, KS; three granddaughters: Abigail, Allison, and Brooke McReynolds; and three sisters: Lois Hickey and Evelyn Ray both of Inman, KS, and LaVona Ruark of Sterling, CO.
