USD 475 Shines at TASN Showcase

  JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - Representatives from Geary County Schools USD 475 and Pawnee Mental Health recently showcased their collaborative efforts to support student mental health and their well-being during the 2026 Kansas Technical Assistance System Network (TASN) School Mental Health Showcase in Overland Park

.“We were thrilled to share our work around a variety of topics with colleagues across the state,” said Courtney Eichhorn, USD 475 Associate Superintendent. “These presentations reflect the strong partnership between USD 475 and Pawnee Mental Health and our shared commitment to creating supportive learning environments where all students can thrive.”

The event, which was held at the Marriott in Kansas City, brought together educators, mental health professionals and school leaders from across the state of Kansas to share best practices, innovative strategies and successful partnerships that support students and school communities who are implementing school mental health practices.Representing USD 475 were Eichhorn, Heather Oentrich, Stephanie Holloway, Teresa Palmer, Katie Hoover and Megan Hewitt. They were joined by Terra Upham and Colleen O’Connell of Pawnee Mental Health, highlighting the strong partnership between the two organizations in supporting student mental health and well-being.

USD 475 and Pawnee Mental Health staff members presented on several topics including the following.• Neuroscience in Education: Stephanie Holloway• Nervous System Regulation: Megan Hewitt and Terra Upham• Trauma Response in School Communities: Katie Hoover and Teresa Palmer• District Community Leadership Teams: Heather Oentrich, Courtney Eichhorn and Colleen O’Connell
