SNAP-Ed Night planned at the Farmer's Market

K-State Research and Extension Geary County SNAP-Ed is joining with Live Well Geary County (LWGC) to host SNAP-Ed Night on Thursday, July 15 at the Farmer's Market.  Stop by the SNAP-Ed booth for information about the SNAP-Ed program, food tastings and activities.  Enter for a chance to win a gift bag!  Individuals and families can register for free nutrition classes at the SNAP-Ed booth.  

Thursday, July 15, is TRIPLE DAY! Live Well Geary County will triple the dollars you spend from your SNAP-EBT card.  

  1. Bring your SNAP-EBT or Pandemic-EBT card to the information booth at the farmer's market. 
  2. They’ll swipe it for up to $25 (this is the maximum double/triple amount—you can spend less). 
  3. Get $25 in RED tokens to spend on SNAP-approved food.  
  4. Get $25 in ORANGE tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.  
  5. Get another $25 in Market Bucks to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.  
  6. Shop for your favorite summertime foods at the market! 

The Geary County Health Department will provide COVID Vaccinations. Three vaccinations will be available: Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. The Health Department will also provide information on the services they provide.   

Beth Dye, Operation Field Specialist for Kansas Department of Health and Environment, will provide education and assistance with KanCare and other state programs offered to the community.  Enter for a chance to win a wellness basket!
