Ada Ann Beck, 95, of Junction City, KS, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022 at the family farm surrounded by loved ones. A funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Lyona United Methodist Church with Pastor Kris Brinlee officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to Lyona United Methodist Church or to the Junction City Animal Shelter.

Ada Ann was born February 16, 1927 in Junction City, KS the daughter of Harley and Hazel (Langvardt) Barton. She grew up on her family dairy farm on West Lyon Creek Road. She attended Rueben Elementary school, a one room school house near her family farm. Ada Ann graduated from Junction City High School in 1945.

While attending Kansas State University, Ada Ann met the love of her life, Hayes B. Beck. They married on August 1, 1948. After marrying, Hayes sold his farmstead East of Manhattan and they moved to the Lyona Community where they purchased the Barton Farm in 1950. Together they farmed as well as owned and operated many business ventures to include a purebred hog operation and Beck’s Milky Way Dairy. She later supported her husband, Hayes, through his political career as a county commissioner.

Ada Ann was a very religious woman and a member of Lyona United Methodist Church her entire life. Her love of Jesus was evident by how she loved and supported her family. She was a caretaker to many whether it be her husband, mother, children, grandchildren or pets. Her family will remember her for her strength and determination to get through the seasons of life. She truly was the glue to hold everything together.

Survivors include four sons, Brenton Beck, Sr. and Tammy of Perryville, AR, Barton and Cindy Beck of Junction City, KS, Jason Beck, Sr. and Roxanne of White City, KS and Jay J. Beck of Junction City, KS; one daughter, Eulonda Eckhoff of Arkansas City, KS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hayes B. Beck; daughter, Tarla Gae Beck; daughter-in-law, Deborah Beck; two granddaughters, Taryn and Starlyn Beck; one brother, Lee Barton; and one sister, Janet Schlegel.
